LatviaWe had a wonderful stay at Birini Castle. I especially liked the little "Summer cafe" down by the mill pond where we could sit outside on the terrace and have a drink. The restaurant was lovely, and the general feeling of the castle was perfect. We enjoyed every aspect of the stay, and would be happy to stay again.
Also, one of our group forgot a tablet in the hotel room and the hotel staff quickly contacted us to arrange sending us the tablet. The customer service was excellent.

Absolute privacy and fully surrounded by nature, perfect for spending some time in peace and quiet. The beach is less than 10 minutes walk away, grocery shop nearby, trails for having a walk around the town and forest. The house itself is more or less a "soviet dacha" style, and this is very appealing as you get an authentic experience with modern comforts. Big kitchen, very spacious rooms, excellent outdoor leisure space. Pet friendly if you are considerate and look after your pets and don't leave a mess after your stay. Just truly exceeded my expectations!

We stayed in Stella, a very nice and quiet place to get away. There's everything you need in the kitchen, bathroom, comfortable rooms and big outside space. We loved the sauna and jacuzzi.
Beautiful little lake with things to do. Very nice, friendly and professional owners.

It was a beautiful home but not well maintained and owned by...
It was a beautiful home but not well maintained and owned by bad people, place was dusty! they had some broken stuff, when we got there that they blamed us for by the way! We had to get the police involved because they demanded 4,000.00 euros from us, which they lowered to 1,200,00 euros when they realized we were not going to be fear mongered It was a good start. Then they blamed us for things which did not make any sense. For example, they said we brought a dog, even though it is clearly stated that the place is animal friendly or the small crack on the wall. It was very suspicious that they found that crack very fast. They threatened us with police or we should pay them double the rent amount on spot which we insisted to call the police. I do not recommend them at all. They are scammer. Since they do not get much business, they obviously came up with this business strategy. Since I worked in an insurance company before, I know how these people operate.

It is a cute and charming North Vidzeme seaside town just on...
It is a cute and charming North Vidzeme seaside town just on the very border with Estonia. A lot of pine trees, fresh air, sea, historical houses and very few people. Stroll around the town and you will see that almost each stone, house and corner have something to say about the amazing history of Ainazi being the center for the sailor education in the past. The nature there is amazing - a lot of trails to explore. It is easy to reach Ainazi by public transport from Riga and other Vidzeme's towns.
There is a fast-food place and some restaurants / cafes, and several shops.

Very delightful, relaxing elegant and enjoyable. Food is very delicious and presented like a five star restaurant. Sorroundings are very pretty and full of nature, walking paths and benches throughout. Since there is no air conditioning, avoid warm days. It will be hot and uncomfortable on summer days.

A quiet place, close to the Estonian boarder and sea.
A quiet place, close to the Estonian boarder and sea. Out of season you can be the only persons walking along the beach. Good for walking and right on the long distance Baltic Way walking route. Plenty of green spaces to explore. There are two museums to visit the Navel museum and the Fire Brigade museum.

Our stay at Birini Pils was absolutely perfect.
Our stay at Birini Pils was absolutely perfect. We were two families of four, with children ages 4, 8, 9, and 12. Everyone really enjoyed it! Very relaxing to explore the grounds, swim in the lake, rent the paddle boat, eat homemade ice cream at the cafe, and our dinner at the castle was incredible. Everything perfect! The only thing to note is that you should let them know if you have any mobility issues as there can be quite a few stairs, depending on where your room is (I'm not sure if there is an elevator). It can also get hot during the summer and because the castle is old, there is no A/C but fans are provided.
