Very nice boutique hotel, unique atmosphere, nothing like them big chain “luxury” hotels. was very lucky to be suited in the first room. Staff was very friendly and lovely. but be careful at night with local immigrants 😂 got beat up right in front of hotel. 10/10 experience, my first booking review

Great hotel, the breakfast had an amazing selection of foods, everything was fresh and tasty. The staff was super nice, I want to send my regards to Greg from the restaurant, his kindness really impressed me, fantastic fellow. The room was very stylish and cosy, even the bed felt comfortable which is rare in hotels (they are usually very soft but this one was just right). The hotel is very well situated, super close to 2 metro stations (RAI and Europaplein) so you can get anywhere very easily and the airport is also close. We really enjoyed our stay! If you're there and want to go a bit extravagant in the evening, try Selva restaurant at the top floor. You will be spoiled.

Amsterdam is the world's oyster.

Amsterdam is the world's oyster. Perfect for thinking, living, and enjoying life outside the box. It has an alluring vibe. Just have to get used to the fact that Uber GPS does not work well in some areas, such as the old quarter, which can create inconveniences for potential customers who prefer that ride-sharing service over taxis.

Haarlem is beautiful and the Christmas market was amazing and very large. If your going for any festival then make dinner reservations on line well in advance! very hard to find anywhere not pre booked! We met a lovely girl in Tierney's Irish Pub after telling her we had been walking for 2 hours trying to find somewhere to eat she managed to find us a table, absolute star. Steak House well if you like raw meat when we asked for well done, powdery prawns and plastic coleslaw then this place is for you! very disappointing.

The transportation system in and around Amsterdam is easy to navigate. It took a few tries to find our way around, but once we understood how things worked, it was fairly straight forward. Just remember to tap in and out when you use your bankcard to pay on the trams, otherwise you'll end up paying the maximum of a day (which weren't really horrible). Most of the signs in and around Amstelveen was in Dutch only, even the menu at the local restaurant, but that wasn't an issue for us. We used the area mainly as a place to stay the nights since we didn't want to stay downtown Amsterdam.

Zaandam is a little away from the center of Amsterdam but there is a train station within walking distance, though no subway system out there. There is a pedestrian shopping area with eateries and grocery stores, etc. It is a quieter area to stay than the main city center. Train fares are a bit more expensive than other EU countries but are regular and on time. Most of the eateries in this area were Turkish and similar, and delicious.

Inflation is a common thing, but Zandvoort tops it all.

Inflation is a common thing, but Zandvoort tops it all. Parking for the week was 120 €. In town you have to pay 4€ for the first two hours (minimum time), thereafter 7 € per hour. Frikandel from the FEBO vending machine was 3 € a piece. More expensive than in Alkmaar (2.40€) and even Amsterdam. Kibbeling varied in quality, but we found a good place at the beach (7.50 € with 4 sauces!). Restaurant were generally very "greedy". Top prices for Pizza Margherita 14.50 €, Tomato Soup 9 €, Cheesecake 9 € and Schnitzel with fries and salad 37.50 €!!!! Petrol about 30-35 cents per liter more than in Germany. I don't know how families with children can afford these prices??? I believe that other locations in The Netherlands are more reasonable, for example Provinz Zeeland, which we visited earlier this year. Zandvoort is for "High Society"!!!???

Stedliijk Museum very good and an interesting and original display of art and worth visiing, coffee shops Ok and the town easy enough to walk around and OK and I'd rather go there for a few days than Amsterdam, being from a small town, myself and good to visit the beach and get a agood blast of air. I diidn;t visit the cheese museum (I don't like cheese) or any other museums apart from the Stedlijk but I enjoyed saying 'Cheese' to folk taking pictures of themselves, as that is what you do in England! :-)

Egmond aan Zee is a charming little beach town in the Netherlands with all the shops and Restaurants you could wish for. As a family of four we liked to walk to the Dekamarkt for our daily breakfast and snacks at the beach. At night we would eat at restaurants, at the typically Dutch snackbar 'Bij Brigitte' or eat Kibbeling(fish) at the Coast. We rented bikes for the day to travel further out. The remains of a castle in Egmond aan de Hoef was very interesting for our preteens and the next coastal town over 'Bergen aan Zee' was lovely as well. We visted the Aquarium there which was facinating for the entire family. Venturing out by foot into the Duinen is recommended as well. We saw wild Horses, oxes and a gorgeous sunset. In the Smidstraat there was a little secondhand Shop full of antiques. So much so that it seemed more a Museum than a shop! Everybody seemed to be able to speak a little German and if not their amazing english skills were impressive! I hope you have a wonderful time in Egmond aan Zee.
