This hostel is actually a student residence, which rooms are rented out to tourists in the summer. I had a large double room with plenty of space, which was nice. The bathroom was also larger than expected, but the shower was quite tight for some reason. Free parking was a nice perk. The hostel is in a quiet area. I noticed that it's wheelchair-friendly: ramp outside, elevator, and staircase lift for an intermediate floor. Downtown Mandal isn't very big so it's easy to walk anywhere, and they have maps (and good advice) at the front desk.

Beautiful area, and the inside of the apartment was gorgeous, in a Norwegian style. Big bathroom, very comfy beds, sizeable kitchen, and a cozy area to sit and watch TV or work. We really enjoyed relaxing in the apartment.
