Comfortable beds, kettle, tea & coffee (even decaffeinated!). Clean and cozy. Modern bathroom. Electricity sockets were conveniently located near beds and the table. Breakfast was 10/10, wide choice of foods, including local Norwegian caviar spread, several types of eggs (boiled, scrambled, fried), coffee machine, juice, yoghurts, apples, several types of ham, and many many more! Breakfast was till 09:30 on weekdays and till 10:00 on weekend, but we came a bit later than that, because we like to sleep in, and fortunately there was no problem! TV was also nice to have.

One of the nicest places I’ve stayed at and I include 4 & star rooms in Manhattan and Paris on that list. Very unassuming from the outside but so homely on the interior with a luxurious feel. Also one of the best showers I’ve used, was so nice after a day hiking. Less that 5mins from Spar supermarket and just over 5mins from main bus stop and train station. A perfect stay away from home. Ps. Definitely buy shoe spikes from the sports store in shopping centre if staying in winter, the icy hills are unforgiving.

So they clearly stated here that reception was not open for a couple of hours at the weekend, and I happened to be arriving around those exact hours on a Saturday. You know what they did after we exchanged a couple of messages beforehand? They found a solution for me (and two other guests) to check in without waiting for hours! If you think that this is what a hotel / hostel / guesthouse should do and there is nothing outstanding about it, wait until visiting a certain hotel down in Amsterdam, get left out at night because they can't check you in at those hours because there's nobody at the reception, and acknowledge that these guys at Breidablikk are exceptionally helpful, nice and also practical people.

Quintessential nordic town tucked away in some random corner of the fjords. Splendid views, amazing blends of natural and urban landscapes, easy shopping and a great place to make your base while you travel around northern Norway

We loved the beauty of the city.

We loved the beauty of the city. Tourist information staff were very friendly and helpful with information for sightseeing. War museum is excellently presented. Gondola ride to the top of Narvikfjellet is a must to see the beautiful sights from above Buses were easy to use and the plenty of shopping centres. We loved all the memorial statues, a beautiful city. We also took a ride on the Arctic Train, suggest this is a day time trip to see the amazing scenery.

In my opinion not worth a visit.

In my opinion not worth a visit. You might have some angle if you're into skiing or if you are a history buff at the war museum, but that's about it. Don't even think about some shopping experience. But a very good starting point for a ride with the night train over the mountains to Stockholm! Leave in the afternoon, be in central Stockholm at noon the day after.
