Since it was out of season we were the only guests but they still treated us so well. It is such a peaceful and quiet area I am sure that even with other guests around it will still be a beautiful and peaceful area. Breakfast was fantastic great granola and yoghurt, great coffee, meats and cheeses, fruit and bread and croissants all that can be toasted or as is and chocolate cake to top it all off. There are 2 pools that even in Feb looked clean and very inviting. They upgraded us to an apartment room with separate living room and kitchen - lovely private terrace area with deck chairs. Public areas absolutely beautiful like sitting in your own home, gorgeous fireplace that we didnt light as it was only us but it felt like sitting in your own lounge room. Highly recommend this place it was just wonderful.

This amazing gem of a place exceeded all our expectations. You simply cant go wrong staying here. From the moment we arrived Vania and Miguel made us feel like part of the family. The attention and service you receive is second to none. The whole hotel and its facilities are beautiful and so well located in the Rota Vicentina. The restaurant was also amazing and Ricardo made sure we enjoyed our experience there. You simply cannot go wrong in choosing this beautiful place. Our only regret was that we wished we would have booked more days there on our Portuguese road trip. We will definitely return! Thankyou to the Herdade Do Touril team!

The reasons why we always come back to São Miguel are the Human and Landscape factors.
We love the bungalows in the freshness of the pinewood forest, the proximity of incredible cliff beaches the restaurant and the care in all things.
On the other side of the balance, is the Team, young, intelligent and attentive.
A special thank to Mr Raj, whom we had the privilege to know, and to attend to His Yoga Class, in camp.
A mention to Mr Edson with His Bicycle library, in camp.

It was absolutely breathtaking experience. Our room no.7 was clean and very large. Lovely terrace, every morning 10-11:00 feeding of animals. We chose option with breakfast- highly recommended! Only 9€/pp. with big choises.
We also made s horse riding (with my 3 years old daughter)- dont miss this opportunity! Horses are very calm and they take care od them so well.

Amazing place and landscape and houses. We already rented there 3 diff houses, all super. Some details could realy be better: always mold in all the bathrooms, sometimes old fournitures (depend the house), no washing machine

Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town .
Vila Nova is a pretty seaside town . We came for a night and stayed for a fortnight. The supermarkets amd cafés are plentiful. There are many beautiful beaches and interesting things to see. The local bus takes you to pretty towns and villages nearby. Its a lovely place to have a holiday.

Sagres is beautiful.
Sagres is beautiful. Perfect for people who are not afraid of wind or cold water. Because of that you find yourself in places with not too many people and always have more than enough space in the beach. Some beaches are full of trailervans but people are nice and chill.

The ruins of the ancient castle overlooking the town enhances the dreamlike feeling of this very old town. Just wandering the streets is enough, but then there is terrific hiking. Ideal for those who like heritage and outdoor adventure in the "real" Portugal outside of the large City. And then there are the people, who could not do enough to help.

Lovely hostess, fabulous location high up so we enjoyed the sunset. Apartment was very clean & well equipped, large, comfortable bed. Wifi very strong. Nice luxury whilst walking 12 days of the Fisherman's trail. Beware the Mercado in the town was closed at 3.30 so we purchased sardines, cheese & wine fir our dinner at the apartment as it us 2.5km out of town

Almograve is a beautiful town close to an amazing beach. The town itself was smaller than the surrounding towns with less amenities , like restaurants to choose from, but we were only there for one night so it was fine. We walked down the road to the beach to enjoy an amazing sunset. The weather was beautiful while we were there. ,

A quiet and pretty small village that remains authentic. A great place for a short visit if you like to avoid the crowds or to look for accomodation if you plan to explore the gorgeous 'vicentina' coast, with car access to many great beaches. Most of these beaches are likely to be too 'wild' for most people, with difficult access, but they are perfect for the more adventurers and, again, for those who prefer to avoid the crowds. Plus, there are a few places in the village centre where you can enjoy a really tasteful light meal, of which I'd definitely reccommend the restaurants 'Ao Largo' and 'Casa Verde'.

I walked from Pedralva to Vila do Bispo -- about 8 miles. A nice in-land walk with a few steep hills, and no provisions (stores, cafe's, etc.,) along the way. Vila do Bispo is a nice little town with a number of very good restaurants, and even an Aldi's. There is a very good Vamus bus connection to Lagos which I used.

A shuttle to take you to beach and shops is very useful as parking in town area limited (and we were outside season )

We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't...
We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't spend any time in the town of Carrapateira itself. But the next morning, we really enjoyed the various hiking trails and scenic overview spots accessible from Carrapateira via the perimeter road (E. da Praia), which starts with great views of and trails to Praia da Bordeira and then winds along the coast's edge for about 10 km. Great views and trails.
