We had a wonderful stay here - we came for the fishing and it didn't disappoint! Our room was on the lake, which meant we had a fantastic view 24/7. The room was lovely too. The food was excellent, with a great breakfast brough to us when we were fishing. The staff are excellent, especially Henri and our fishing guide Sully. There is a really lovely atmosphere about the place too, you get to meet great people. Loved it.

Sea view here is crazy! Waking up in the morning with the stunning view can heall your bad days! Staffs here is very kind and helpful. Location is not bad. There are local restaurants, coffee shop and convenient stores nearby. Traveling in Koh Samui will be super convenient when you rent a car bike which the manager can help you arrange it! Breakfast is not a buffet but it's a great quality dishes so 10/10 for me. Cleanliness and Hygiene is also perfect score. Thank you all staffs for making our stay a memorable one. Definitely come back again on my next Samui trip!

This hotel is just amazing! Starting with the top notch staff and the hotel manager Tew, always smiling & so helpful with everything you need. My husband had a birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special. The pool overlooking the beach is just heaven. So well maintained & clean, as well as the amazing comfortable room with amazing views of the ocean. Comfortable big bed, big bath on the veranda with flowery salts to put in the bath - everything is just thought out so well. Boxing bag in the room - so fun. As well as the Muay Thai class that they give for free - so fun! Breakfast is big, lots of choices and fresh salad and good coffee. Get a scooter so you can get around, it’s around 5 min drive to center of Lamai with all restaurants, bars, markets, but there are also restaurants nearby walking distance. Thank you Thai fight hotel, we’ll be back for sure.

Palm Trees and Pristine Seas

One of Thailand’s most famous islands, Koh Samui (or Ko Samui) is a tropical paradise whose palm trees emerge from the pristine white sands at unbelievable angles, and whose offshore reefs make for great diving.

The most developed resort is Chaweng, though most bars and clubs are set back from the beautiful beach, so the views are still wonderful. Slightly less lively is Lamai, though its beach is no less impressive. Both of these resorts are home to a large number of Koh Samui hotels with private pools, a popular requirement of many visitors, despite the wonderfully warm waters.

Lipa Noi in the west faces Thailand’s east coast and has some beautiful sunsets, while the northern fishing village of Bo Phut is gaining in popularity. Nearby Mae Nam and Cheong Mon both have sweeping beaches that gently shelve into the sea, making them popular family choices.

Travellers don't go tot Koh Samui for its sights – but interesting attractions include the Big Buddha at Bangrak’s Wat Phra Yai temple, and the Wat Khunaram Ko Samui temple inland from Hua Thanon.

Everything was wonderful. We went here for our honeymoon and from the moment we were greeted to the moment we checked out we felt like we were in paradise. We did a lot of research before picking our hotel and, looking back, would not change a thing. We even visited some of the other nearby hotels at similar price points and we were extremely satisfied with our choice. We loved the special details (tea at nighttime, soaps on demand, cold water at served at the beach) in this beautiful setting. We picked SALA Choengmon for a few reasons: the beautiful beach (clean, soft sand instead of rocks, some cute snorkeling), the resourceful neighbourhood (great to get basics and even not-so-basics like a haircut), the service, the water sport amenities, the fact that it didn't seem like a totally western-style generic resort, and the luxury feel of the rooms. Don't expect a cookie-cutter hotel room here - they have purposely made the design so that you wake up looking out into beautiful trees full of flowers and birds, going to the restroom feels like going to the spa, and you can really disconnect. The rooms don't really have a large / comfortable table to work on (they have a narrow desk) but there is a library and plenty of tables in the common areas - this was a plus for us as it really felt like a special holiday. We also thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, still dreaming of their delicious acai bowls. As it is not a huge property, don't expect endless buffet options - they are curated, delicious, still plenty of good choice between Western and East-Asian, and we really appreciated that the hotel seems to take food waste reduction seriously. We also did the Thai buffet for dinner one night and there were too many delicious options to choose from. Hope to be able to return one day!

Staff was World Class in accomadating my physical disabilities. They even ran to my aid with an umbrella when it rained! I never had to carry a suitcase or bags my entire stay, And I had quite a few. The view took me away in the paradise I was actually in. It was spectacular! I had a pool side room for my 8 nights, with a private balcony overlooking the ocean. The grounds were immaculate and I enjoyed watching the groundws keeper perform his duty with so much joy and pride of workmanship. The staff ALWAYS greeted me with bright shiny smiles. My room was spotless and made up for me each day on my return. The mini bar was always stocked to my bewilderment. My bed was comfy and inviting with fresh picked plumeria flowers on the spread. The breakfasts were beyond exceptional. I have never in my life seen such an exquisite morning spread as they put on in their resturant. You could literally have any and everything you can think of, and then some. I didn't want to leave it to come back home, as they made me feel like royalty. I have never been treated so well anywhere in my life as at the Code Samui. Im going back! Oh, I can't forget-when you go, you have to book a full body Thai Massage or a believe foot massage at their NUT SPA. I promise you will walk away enlightened and rejuvenated.

The decoration of the hotel and the room is very nice, comfortable and creating a special distinguished, yet relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is right on the beach and you have a nice view from the pool to the beach and nearby Koh Pangan island. The restaurant is excellent and you will find many other options in walking distance, if needed. We preferred however to eat at the hotel's restaurant which is excellent. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel very special.

We loved everything about this hotel. The room was exactly how it looked in the photos, our pool was amazing and the bed was so comfortable. It's amazing hotel, not new but in Thai style and we love it a lot! The room is amazing, at night you have the sounds of frogs outside. At the reception you can rent a bike for a few minutes, very comfortable. On the bike 4 minutes drive to the center, 5 minutes drive to the airport. The breakfast is amazing, great quiet private beach. Nice pool. We love it a lot!

I read a lot of reviews about the amazing beaches of Koh...

I read a lot of reviews about the amazing beaches of Koh Samui. I tried many of them and I can tell with confidence that Chaweng was the best by miles. I was based in Chaweng and I though to check the other beaches. I walked all over Lamai, which is very panoramic, but there is a constant stink wherever you go and the beach inside has a lot of corals/rocks that will probably hurt your feet. Crystal Bay was tiny, not comfortable because of the corals and overcrowded. I didnt see Fisherman Village beach while the others on the east side looked dirty. Choose Chaweng

Lamai is for those who like things to be bit slow and quiet.

Lamai is for those who like things to be bit slow and quiet. You will do everything that is possible on the Island in less than 4 days, after that you either enjoy the sun, pool, beach or numerous cocktail places. It's at bay s you wont have to worry yourself about natural disasters such as Tsunami.

The resort was fantastic!

The resort was fantastic! The individual villas were great as it didn't feel like a hotel. These gave a more relaxed atmosphere to the resort. The pool was very pretty. The restaurant was spacious and the service efficient along with the delicious food and wine. Great value, a super location and a really pretty resort!

We really enjoyed this area of Koh Samui.

We really enjoyed this area of Koh Samui. Our resort (Hansar Resort & Spa) was perfectly located and very comfortable. Fisherman's Village was in easy walking distance from our resort and gave us easy access to plenty of restaurants, bars, convenience stores, pharmacies, massage, etc. Unfortunately, we were down for the count most of our trip with stomach issues so we did not venture outside the Bophut area. Even with the illness, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and plan to return soon and explore the rest of the island.

There are only two bungalows facing the beach and they are AMAZING!! We did not want to leave our hotel. Some of the other rooms looked nice too but faced the garden walkway. One bungalow faced a concrete wall. You get what you pay for. Loved this place so much.

Chaweng Noi Beach was one of my favorite spots on Koh Samui. It’s incredibly beautiful — soft white sand, calm turquoise water, and a peaceful atmosphere that feels like a little escape from the busier parts of the island. I loved how quiet and relaxed it was, perfect for swimming or just lying under the sun. The view with the green hills around was stunning. That said, it’s not the best during low tide — the rocks and coral can make it tricky to get in the water. Also, there’s not much going on nearby in terms of shops or nightlife, and some areas can get a bit pricey because of the luxury resorts. Still, for a calm beach day with amazing views, I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Very friendly people and going to a night market is a great experience! Traveling across the island is easy but it may get a bit costly if you have to take a van for 6 or 8 people. Beaches on the east side are nice but busy. Beaches on the west are less crowded but may get narrow and untidy due to the tides. Overall we were missing the very long beaches with plenty of palm trees and powder-soft sand. Worth a visit are higher areas of the island in middle, e.g. Dee's Chilling Hill restaurant. Also going to the Ang Thong Marine park is very nice.

Loved our room! It was very spacious,clean & comfortable. The bed and pillows met our expectations. The pool was huge! Great for children or grown ups. A very ambient,quiet resort set on the beach front. The beach chairs are very comfortable and the best place to chill with a book or take in the amazing views. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is very peaceful and we ordered a taxi or grab to go to dinner in the evening. We had drinks at the Hotel pub one evening. Overall a great stay & value for the rates. The breakfast was sufficient …eggs and fresh fruit/toast/pastries. Handy if you have a motor bike to get around the Island as grab is expensive. .
