Our stay at the Marriott Beach Resort & Spa in Khao Lak was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Everything exceeded our expectations and made for a truly unforgettable holiday. The breakfast was exceptional—incredibly varied, high-quality, and beautifully presented, with options for every taste, both Western and Asian. All of the resort’s restaurants are excellent, offering consistently delicious food and a great dining experience. The staff truly deserve special recognition. Everyone was friendly and professional, but Bob and his team at the reception desk stood out for their outstanding service. They were extremely helpful, attentive, and genuinely customer-focused, always ready to assist with a smile. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, providing everything you would expect from a top-tier Marriott resort. Relaxing by the Quiet Pool was wonderfully peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The beach is breathtakingly beautiful—pristine, expansive, and ideal for enjoying stunning sunsets. The surrounding area also offers some great dining options. There are several excellent local restaurants nearby, with Blue Sky being a definite must-visit. In short, this resort offers the perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and relaxation. We would highly recommend it and would love to return in the future!

First off, THE BREAKFAST! The most extensive and delicious breakfast buffet we had during our entire trip. They have everything, including a loose-leaf tea bar, an espresso maker, a chilled room with meat and cheese, Thai food, western breakfast foods, etc. The hotel does a beautiful job of blending the bungalows and service buildings into the jungle; it is like staying in luxury in the middle of the jungle! Be aware that the property is large and some of the bungalows are a good 5-7 minute walk to the lobby/restaurant; it may not be the best option for anyone with mobility challenges. The room was beautiful, with great attention to detail (like the best-smelling hand soap!). The staff was exceptionally nice and welcoming. For the price, everything is outstanding.

Our stay at the villa was absolutely wonderful. I chose a 3-bedroom villa with a private pool, and it was really nice and comfortable. The place was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable holiday. The location was peaceful and private, close to attractions but not near shops, and about 2 hours by car from Patong Beach. The price was very reasonable for the quality offered. The host provided excellent hospitality and service, making our stay even more enjoyable. We truly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting the area.

Wowzers! This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Hard to beat Khao Lak. Hotel is new, and very modern. If you are into modern architecture and sharp angles, this is the place for you. The Thai food served is excellent, and the drinks are generous. The pool is absolutely stunning. Breakfast is great, with lots of variety. The place is very popular with European retirees, and there were very few North Americans. I think we were the only ones. The Hotel throws a free cocktail party at 6PM for guests. We were told there was no room and we could come back, we left but upon leaving staff asked for our room number and we were then told that they had room for us. Such a gorgeous little island, which feels more untouched and away from the masses. Friendly locals and just the right amount of shops and resteraunts to try. The perfect island to relax and unwind. A shot long boat trip out to nearby islands for some snorkelling was a great activity with our smaller kids. So many fish to look at!

We went in May with a group of friends and found it a low key and relaxing island. Beautiful beaches and a few places to explore. I think scooter hire is a must-have to be able to get around...that was a highlight for us just cruising around the island! The hike to the 'big tree' was way harder than expected but the gorgeous secluded beach at the end made it worth it. In low season it seems like at least half the restaurants and shops are closed so you can't rely on google to tell you where to go, sometimes you just have to drive around and see what's open.

Lots of things to photograph here. Street photography, landscape, seascapes, drones, portraits, temples, wildlife. The Elephant Cave was awesome, and we even arranged to photograph it with our tripods. Lots of monkeys were running around. We took our scooters about 20 minutes away to a dock and launched drones to capture beautiful river deltas. About an hour away was a nice sunset spot called Samet Nangshe.

If you want to visit a clean beach for swimming and water activities, this is not a good option. there was plastic and other rubbish every where, both on shore and in the water. The resorts locally are lovely though and still worth staying at. We stayed at Santhiya and it was wonderful. The best thing about this area is it is not overcrowded and the locals are lovely

Beautiful beach with soft sand, safe warm sea. Very quiet. Have to hire a scooter or taxi to get around. Can walk along the beach to other resorts but too far to walk elsewhere. No shopping or night life!

This is an Island that still full of natures.

This is an Island that still full of natures. It has 16 Kilometers of beaches, coral life that can be seen in shallow water, a lots of birds including rare Hornbills, hundreds of deers, mangrove forest, unique savannah grass land, etc. Native people (sea nomad) are living quietly in small villages. It is very clean and safe. Located near mainland. Only take 40 minutes ride on a slow boat in a calm sea.

This is the place to be if youn want to experience the awesome scuba diving in that area. Khao lak is a quiet laid back little town. You can walk to some of the beaches and they are nice. plenty of restaurants and shops. Not super touristy or loud.

Must visit island in thailand. Must visit for atleast 4 days, serene islands, very less population, all essential and necessary things are available. Great experience. Laem Had beach during low tide, loh chak for activities, Loh pared for great sunset at the pier. Great food and seaside culinaries available at every doorstep.

If you want peace and quiet and seclusion, this is the place! Be aware that you are there to relax and will be paying higher prices for items such as food an drink. It makes sense as they have to ship everything in. That being said, everything is made with care and delicious! They do have two happy hours from 5-6 and 9-10 on the beach. Lots of honeymooners! I went with my two adult sons, it was a stop in between Krabi and Phuket and it was perfect to get away from the crazy and chill. Take their boat transfer too!
