I stayed in Pittsfield to visit the New Lebanon and...

I stayed in Pittsfield to visit the New Lebanon and Pittsfield Shaker villages. It was wonderful to see these historical places. Pittsfield is a bit sad as a town, a bit decayed... though they do have a theater and a concert hall.

The location is perfect, but provision for amenities are very poor. Lack of information for first time none American travellers is inadequate. None existence of public transport should be made clear to foreign travellers.

We chose Pittsfield over Lenox because of their Friday...

We chose Pittsfield over Lenox because of their Friday evening Street Fair and choice of two theaters. The Clark Institute in Williamstown, MA, and Tanglewood, with performances of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (Summer only), are within easy driving distance.

This was our second visit and we had a great time.

This was our second visit and we had a great time. The resort was not over crowded and there was plenty of parking. Definitely enjoyed being on the first floor. The resort is centrally located so every day there was a new adventure close by. Already booked for next year!

Tanglewood is close to Pittsfield- great location.

Tanglewood is close to Pittsfield- great location. We love staying in Pittsfield. There are many terrific activities to do in the Berkshires- museums, theaters, dance, Shakespeare, hiking, etc. Lots of wonderful scenery in the Berkshires!.Many really good restaurants and shops, too.

It was a great location to see several points of interest.

It was a great location to see several points of interest. We went into Vermont and toured the Robert Frost House. We took in the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Mass, We made it to the Edith Wharton mansion, went to Albany New York, and enjoyed two concerts at Tanglewood. My son found a couple of book sales at local libraries, and the privately owned Braveheart Bookstore in Stephentown, NY. We rode the ski lift to the top of Jiminy Mountain, right at our resort.
