Attention: you may not want to leave your room! The sea breeze room, where I stayed for two nights, is mind blowing. The view actually looks better in real life, and the balcony is very big. The hotel was very quiet and relaxing, and the staff was also very nice. The breakfast in the morning was very good, and the fruit tray was impressive ! There are a couple of good restaurants at a walking distance (Salinas, which can be reached by walking on the beach, and Joplins Steak Bar - not the nicest walk near the road but there is a pedestrian route and it’s only 6 minutes away. Amazing steak!). I have stayed in many nice hotels, but the experience of overlooking directly the beach from your bed is incredible.
The mini bar was full of drinks and snacks, and the honesty system was very appreciated. The room was very clean and the overall experience was safe and beautiful.

George appeared to be a nice small town.
George appeared to be a nice small town. While entering through the highway, there are a few patches that appear kind of unsafe and disappointing, but most part of the town is good. The nearby places like Victoria Bay and Mossel Bay (didn’t visit) are good.

We enjoyed the scenery and quietness around the Wilderness Lake View. We were also thankful for Spar being close by to get cold drinks during a hot and sunny day with a scorching sun burning on our skin adding vitamin D and a tan to keep the holiday spirit alive!

place was stunning, however when i booked was noted we had to vacate the place between 8-12am, we had cleaning staff demanding we leave
at 9.30 so they can clean as new tenants arrive at 2.. we were intending to leave at 10, they could not wait and insisted to invade our space. very unnecessary as the cabin was kept as we found it. i think the maids must
understand we are the paying customer not them. bit of a spoiler.

for the response on the call out too😉 to brian and verner can see you
have a close family and have had wonderful times have memories... luv that.

Hoekwil is beautiful with lots to see - there is a big tree nearby which you can visit (make sure to wear comfortable shoes). There are also a few nice places to eat, drink coffee and enjoy the quiet surrounds. The accommodation in the area is also very nice and neat.

I liked that it’s not very busy. The transport network looked great. Didn’t see taxis creating havoc on the roads.
I didn’t like the fact that driving from Knysna to airport I couldn’t find a petrol station to fill up the car

I visited Wilderness not as a tourist or holidayer but to visit cherished friends who live on Lake Road. That said, I found Wilderness very appealing with lots of things to do for those who are so inclined; a number of very good restaurants certainly appealed to me. Naturally for me, I find the bustle of holiday season a little wearing but acknowledge that is a must for local merchants.

The accommodation was awesome, the reception super friendly and informative. The view was unequaled. It was a most memorable stay. The meals at Dutton's Cove were amazing. So glad that we chose Herold's Bay as a destination and Ozone Apartments as our host. The hike to the cross and the view from there was breathtaking. We were even blessed to see well over 300 dolphins in 2 consecutive days and 2 whales. Will definitely re-visit.
