Booked a double/ensuite room for my wife and I plus a twin room with shared facilities for our son. Our room was fantastic - more like a suite with sitting area with views to the mountains and tea/coffee facilities. The twin room was basically just that with 2 beds and nothing else. This was fine as it was as expected - our room was a definite bonus. There was nice 'community' feel as it was full of like-minded people of various ages all touring round the Scottish Highland areas

Fantastic location with great views. Free parking on site. All the rooms are huge, kitchen dining area and lounge. Great location and good value for money. Very upmarket with well equiped kitchen.

Staff were super friendly, the private room was a great size and comfy bed and excellent shower. We had a wee walk to the walled garden for dinner. WiFi was fine.

We were asked to pay for towels, only to find that there were towels available in our rooms.

The rooms were very comfortable and the showers were some of the best we came across on a 7 night tour of Northern Scotland. The communal kitchen was spacious and well-equipped.

I was driving alone and the road to go at the hostel was kind of complicated for me. It's a single road with passing place (at least for 15km) so you need to be super concentrate. For some people it can be find, but after a full day hiking and driving in Scoltand it can be a lot.

The staff is so welcoming. For the girl's shower we can see that everything is well thought out and its clean. The place is really peacful.

The Hartfield is a lovely place to stay, the facilities looked to cover just about everything you would need. The room was very clean and while not en-suite the shower and toilets were also very clean, in fact the whole place was clean and looked fresh.

Other travellers. The couple next door to my room were quite inconsiderate and spent till after midnight chatting which I could hear quite clearly. There was also some people that arrived/departed in the early hours of the morning and they were quite loud about it

The bed, but everything else was fab.

Hostel with bunks and double and ensuite rooms, great value and very clean, however our bed particularly was rather uncomfortable, we could feel the springs! - but, there aren't many places to stay in the area so it was a great spot. Everyone was extremely friendly. Beautiful grounds with highland cattle and deer and a fabulous restaurant within walking distance called the walled garden which we would highly recommend.

Very laid back no hastle whatsoever room massively exceeded my expectations one of the nicest rooms I’ve stayed in, great to see they had a gym as well despite the machines being outdated however in such a remote location like that I was shocked to even see a gym to say the least, amazing place, amazing location and amazing views!

To be honest there’s nothing I don’t like. Can’t wait to go back again. The remoteness might not suit some people but to me that’s the beauty of it.

Stayed in a single room with shared facilities to reduce cost. Perfectly acceptable and slept well. The hostel was clean and had a very good kitchen. Was very lucky with the weather and really enjoyed walking over 4 days. So peaceful on the walks you could just melt . Birds were singing and bees buzzing.The leaflet showing a map of the walks is available at reception along with other information about the area. Very helpful. All the staff were friendly, so many thanks to them, especially Jess. I love the location especially as it almost feels detached from the rest of the world.This is my second stay at this friendly hostel and I’ve booked again for next year.
