Perhaps parking for people who are staying could be marked out so that we are not competing with the 'lunchtime crowd' for a space when trying to check in.

Checking in early was no problem for the staff who appreciated I had travelled some distance, so with various roadworks it was difficult to arrive at a more reasonable time. The meal the first evening took time to arrive, but was cooked from scratch, delicious and by booking a seat ahead I got a free glass of wine! Breakfast the second morning was a bit 'Chefy' with being piled up and decorative greenery, but both mornings it was well cooked, the coffee was good.

We stayed as an over stop whilst cycling the king Alfred Way as the pub is right on the route. The room was comfortable and clean and the food was good and we were able to leave our bikes in their secure cycle store.

I have paid different prices from £79 to £110 it seems a bit random with pricing, I’m obviously happier with £79. But it’s a great place & look forward to my stay’s there, thanks guys

Perhaps in the evening offer a senior citizen slightly smaller portion, rather like the Canadians do. It might bring in the 'grey pound'.

Breakfasts were superb, the evening meals similarly more than generous. The kitchen staff appreciated the little praise I could offer them. The room was clean, neat and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. What was not to like?

Continental breakfast items very limited, fruit bowl needed attention to remove bananas well past their best. But that’s a small gripe about an otherwise very nice stay.

Rooms were plainly furnished but had everything we needed. Took a while to work out the heating in the room. Staff very friendly. Great cooked breakfast. Good value

Evening meal in the pub is on the pricey side, but then you pay for quality. It would tend to be a quiet celebration meal.

Breakfast was cooked to order with a help yourself table of goodies. All staff, including the cleaner and chef, were always up-beat, friendly and helpful.

The only inconvenience was the emergency lighting unit in the bedroom which was a little too bright. I prefer total darkness when I'm sleeping and it lit the room up a lot which did disturb me. Not enough to stop me coming back though!! Already booked my next stay!

Lovely comfortable and cosy room. Cold when you first get into the room at the end of the day but takes minutes to warm through. Fantastic hospitality tray which is topped up each day with a lovely selection of tea's, hot chocolate, cafetiere with delicious ground coffee, bottled water and delicious shortbread. The room had everything you need for a comfortable stay. I ate in the pub every night and every meal I had was exceptional. The staff are really helpful and accommodating. Breakfast - The continental selection is limited but I didn't want for anything. Menu is just a cooked breakfast, but it is fantastic.

Room was cold with heater not being very efficient. Also emergency light permanently on in room. Badly placed as makes room to bright at night. Would suggest moving to corridor outside room.

OOOur room was a bit small
