I usually have 1 waffle I had 2 with bacon and egg with maple syrup it was lovely. My partner had full English and praised how lovely it was.Thete was also a fantastic range of teas coffees and juices followed by continental breakfast 😀

The perfect location if you're driving and visiting both The Forbidden Corner and York. Comfortable spacious room, off-street parking, and a nice bar/restaurant in a quiet village. Even after paying for petrol for the drive to/from York and paying for parking at the ASDA at Layerthorpe (£7.62 for the whole day, online booking), you'll still be way ahead compared to York hotel prices and have a nice place to come back to.

The location was perfect, set in lovely country grounds, lovely old building but immaculate and well thought out inside. Done to a very good standard with attention to every detail to make sure our stay way perfect. Breakfast was one of the best I've experienced. Pub/restaurant across the way was the same standard. Overall a delight and will be back.

It was an amazing experience. The hotel itself is extremely comfortable and cozy, the spa is great and most notably, the staff is amazing and beyond kindness (particular thanks to Thea and her amazing French!).

Situated between the Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, this hotel is listed as one of England's oldest coaching inns and overlooks the cobbled market place in Thirsk.

We had a very comfortable room with good facilities. We slept very well. The service was excellent, the staff very friendly. We had a great breakfast and a delicious dinner in the restaurant. The beer was also very good. All in all we were very satisfied, the price was fair and we would be happy to come back.
