Don't be misguided by the 1-star rating - it is much better than many 3 and 4 star hotels I have visited. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The wine cellar can be seen from the hallways and the atmosphere is wonderful and wine-themed. Do not miss a walking tour of the grounds, with the ponds, chapel, and memorial sites for members of the winemaking owner family. Great food as well as wine. Breathtaking views of the whole valley.

It’s outside Amurrio but if you are in the area it’s a great choice. Hotel is newish and charming and very comfortable, good ac, comfortable bed with good linens, adorable deck with lovely view, good bike storage. They served us a a casual but fine dinner in their restaurant nearby. It’s run by a brother and sister (and maybe a few other relatives) and they were friendly and interesting and kind to us. Very good value in a rural locale.

Located in Elciego on the Rioja-Alavesa Wine Route, this property features a 15th-century winery. Agroturismo Valdelana offers modern accommodation and a museum. This experience exceeded our expectations and the winery tour was A LOT better than Franco Espanolas in Logroño and other wine tours we had. Our history was exceptionally good.
