The 16th century house is beautifully restored, and our room was spacious with a very up to date shower and bathroom. But what sets this place apart is the attentive hospitality of hosts Sheila and Guy.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and were shown to a lovely room at the front of the property. The tea tray had a great selection of tea coffee and hot chocolate along with quality biscuits. Towels were lovely and soft and most importantly the bed was large and very comfortable. We will definitely be recommending this property to anyone traveling to Ross on Wye. Although there is no private parking available, we had no trouble parking further down the hill on the road.

Two Rivers Lodge is set one mile from the historic town of Chepstow, close to the A48 Road. It features a restaurant, an outdoor eating area and a children’s play area. We enjoyed a very tasty dinner in the restaurant as well as breakfast in the more casual area next morning. The room was well appointed though not a lot of floor space for our 2 large suitcases. There was very easy access from the car. The breakfast had plenty of choice and make your own cappuccino etc machines as well as boiling water for tea.

Located in the market town of Coleford, the Angel Hotel is a 16th century coaching inn with its own restaurant and bar. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Nice place and close to where I was working. Booking.com accidentally charged me twice for the room and the staff took care of it. Will definitely book here next time I am working in the area.
