Please note that you cannot wear swimsuits in the mixed-gender open-air baths. Drinks vending machines are also available on site. Beautiful ryokan in a lovely little town. Staff were wonderful and facilities excellent - very comfortable and romantic stay in a traditional experience. Had a great time soaking in the hot pools under the stars in the forested area at night. Special experience with the mixed outdoor bath with the waterful in front, very pretty and made many happy memories. Thanks so much!

Amazing hotel, close to the castle. Staff were absolutely attentive. The room was huge and with castle views. Very convenient if you are taking the coach line to Yufuin or Kurokawa, as the bus station is in front of the hotel.

We had one of our best nights in Japan at Okyakuya! From the first minute the service was outstanding, our baggage was transported to our room, car parked. Great room, even tough traditional it was modernized keeping its original charm. Both dinner and breakfast where amongst the best we had in any Ryokan we stayed at. After checking out we where offered additional towels as we wanted to explorer other Onsens in town

It also features a lounge with complimentary coffee and WiFi, a terrace and a garden. Free parking is available. Wow, what an excellent place. It felt very special as soon as we walked in to the gates. The staff, room, onsen, and restaurant were all wonderful. We particularly liked the combination of public and private onsen and also the great bath that we had in the room. Despite our lack of Japanese we were made to feel very welcome and everything was well explained to us.

The staff are attentive and friendly, there’s a nice bar on the main floor, and it’s well situated in kurokawa onsen—close to the other ryokan onsens but not in the middle of the foot traffic. Compare to other ryokans, the group onsen is not as hot. However, guests of the ryokan may reserve a private bath at no charge, and the space was great with hot and good water. The food was great, and served in the room. Given the options for private baths, this ryokan is great for families.

Guests can relax in the indoor and outdoor hot-springs baths and enjoy traditional multi-course meals. Kurokawa Onsen Bus Stop is a 10-minute walk away. Enjoy my stay here at Ichinoi very much from spcious.room to the lovely onsen to the half board meals which really.impressed me. The staff were very helpful and.make us feel comfortable. The ryoken was off the main kurokawa street and is a narrow drive up but is doable.

Hitoyoshi Train Station is an 11-minute walk from the property. The interior space is very welcoming. Breakfast and dinner were excellent (good value). The staff was extremely friendly and warm. The location is nearby downtown area and Hitoyoshi station.
