Hacienda Motor Lodge ligt in het hart van Palmerston North en biedt accommodatie in de buurt van cafés, restaurants en bars. Er is gratis onbeperkt WiFi en gratis privéparkeergelegenheid beschikbaar. The location was great with good cafes within walking distance, and the hosts were wonderful. There was a coffee capsule machine and toiletries as well as chocolate/sweets after room servicing. It was a comfortable, quiet room with good kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Tongariro Crossing Lodge was a great place to stay for our family (parents, 2 adult daughters). Our main purpose was to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing the next day. However, after consulting with Louis (owner) and looking at the predicted cloud cover, we opted to delay the hike an extra day Louis kindly suggested alternative shorter hikes/activities near by, which were very enjoyable. Louis had also reserved spots for us on the shuttle (to/from hike) but upon our arrival and discussion, we decided to drive ourselves to the carpark which ended up being a good idea since the day we hiked was extremely cloudy, not clearing up until about 1pm. Driving ourselves allowed us to be flexible and enjoy the stunning views for another hour instead of rushing back to make the 5:30pm shuttle. In addition to the room (ours was newly renovated), you could also pay for a continental breakfast and sack lunch which Louis brought to our room the night before the hike. Very convenient and yummy!! Lodge was also within walking distance of restaurants (two that we ate at had great views of mountains, sunset) and small store. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay - perfect for us :). Louis was also very responsive prior to our trip, answering my many questions.

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. We stayed in a King Pod and it was terrific! Private, very comfortable bed, hot shower and an amazing soaking tub. Loved our stay there and wish we had stayed the night after we hiked the Crossing too!

Ideally located on Whanganui’s main street, Aotea Motor Lodge offers free WiFi and free wired broadband internet access. Double spa baths are provided in every unit. There was a large spa in the room that looked very nice, but we did not use it. There was a nice shower in the bathroom and we were given towels. In addition they had a free washing machine with a coin dryer--very convenient.

Located just a 2-minute walk from the City Centre, Copthorne Hotel Palmerston North offers free on-site parking. While the room was wonderful, clean and most comfortable indeed, it was the super friendly staff that made our stay just so pleasurable. We can't praise the staff too much !
