The guesthouse is a gem in the Kumano river valley and the host is the kindest of all! You'll have direct access to the open-air onsen in the river, which was an awesome experience! The Japanese-style room was impeccable and charming and the shared facilities were clean and functional. The host is welcoming and friendly. Due to miscommunication we didn't get the dinner at the guesthouse and to apologize for it he offered us breakfast, which was delicious. He also upgraded our room free of charge due to other guests cancelling their booking the same day.

Momo is an excellent host with extraordinary attentiveness and kindness. All the meals were delicious and carefully prepared. I was even given fruits and snacks that made my Kumano Kodo hike really enjoyable! The house is beautifully renovated and close to the beach. Even if it is a bit of a walk from the station, Momo would borrow the bicycle or offer a lift! It is more than just an accommodation, but an experience.

True Japanese hospitality in the traditional style, wonderful food (breakfast and dinner) and the special on site experience requiring a walk through a tunnel is certainly memorable. Our hosts were always smiling and friendly and helped us with a bus reservation (which was vital)

This was one of my best experiences at an onsen hotel in Japan during my 10+ years of travel. The staff were exceptional—responsive, welcoming, and able to communicate easily. Parking is right next to the hotel. Guests can enjoy the onsen facilities within the hotel and the nearby 長生湯, just a two-minute walk away. Both onsens are clean with 長生湯 offering a stunning view of the starry sky at night. There's also a restaurant nearby for supper which is convenient. Our room was spacious. We booked a 4-person room for just the two of us but the space is more than enough for 6 adults I would say! If I'm travelling with my family, I'm sure they would be super happy with the room. The food was delicious and satisfying, especially the house plum wine, which is a must-try! Overall speaking, excellent stay and great value for money!

Although the hotel is a bit far from Shirahama Station, you can easily get on bus to the hotel, and the bus stop is just in front of the hotel. The staff are very helpful all the time, at check-in, shuttle bus reservation, find my lost belt, ... ... The rest area is big, and offers free coffee and tea. The room is spacious with beach view, the morning view is fabulous.

River view, spacious room, well equipped. the property has own indoor hot springs as well as access to outdoor natural onsen. It's amazing experience to bath in one of those. Beuatiful natural surroundings. Property has parking. There was just one restaurant in village, but the dinners and breakfast can be also prepared by property hosts. We had dinner and we got huge portions and everything was delishious, also vegan friendly. the property is only 10-15mins drive from Honguncho Hongu (with more restaurants and supermarket)

It was my fors stay in traditional Japanese ryokan and it was good. The staff was very pleasant and kind. They managed to prepare breakfast for us in the early morning. Everything was smooth and nice. There is also public onsen right near hotel. Moreover, you can even dig your own onsen near the river

Dinner and breakfast was superb. Loved the old style room with the tatami mats, futon , river view/sounds and japanese style table and chairs. Tattoo friendly onsen in this place and bonus onsen by the river. Staff friendly, helpful and informative. Wi fi reception excellent!

Very nice owner. Good location close to the bus stop. Genuine Japanese experience of staying in Ryokan, among others with sleeping on the tatami. Digging own onsen at a river side is amazing. Food needs to ordered earlier than on arrival.
