The course meals prepared for us were amazing.

This 3-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and a housekeeping service. This is the first ever hotel I am giving a 10/10. Honestly was the best stay ive ever had. The location was great, just across from the bus stop. The room was clean and tidy, Yukatas left in room for us to use. The host was so kind and friendly, she even gave us a larger Yukata to wear! The breakfast was an amazing mix of Western meets Japanese, and was delivered to our room for us! She even brought welcome tea and snacks to our room when we arrived as well! Overall, the best hotel stay of our Japan trip so far!

Boasting garden views, Ryutakuzenji 宿坊 offers accommodation with balcony, around 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The ryokan has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. While the location was a bit out of the way (roughly 25min drive from Takasaki station), it was in a beautiful and quiet spot surrounded by cherry blossoms in full bloom. The room we had was the biggest out of all the places we stayed in Japan, was clean and comfortable, and had a private garden with covered deck and outdoor bath, which was absolute bliss after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. The hospitality shown to us by the staff was exceptional, and we had no problem communicating through limited Japanese/English. They served traditional meals, which were beautifully presented and a delight to eat, having small servings of lots of different things. We made use of the free bicycles and had a great time exploring the area while getting a bit of exercise.

The units in the ryokan are fitted with a kettle. There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with slippers, a hair dryer and free toiletries. All units will provide guests with air conditioning, a safety deposit box and a flat-screen TV. The food was FANTASTIC!!! the room was excellent, and the service impeccable.but sadly we forgot to eat the complimentary dessert in the fridge.... the Onsen was excellent also would have liked to stay longer.

It was unfogetable eperience- we met the owner and it was amazing to see how past meets modern Japan. More then 500 years onsen was first esperience in my life also we enjoyed first time private onsen with my husband .We had breakfast and diner served in room and it was unforgettable , especially egg cooked in onsen! The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, simple, and comfortable, and our private onsen was a highlight! The multi-course dinner and breakfast service were absolutely fantastic as well. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to and from Minakami Station, which was also easy to navigate. This was the perfect quiet and relaxing escape during our honeymoon!

Hanaingen is an adult only accommodation situated in Kusatsu, just a 2-minute walk from Yubatake, or the hot water field in Kusatsu Onsen. Free private parking is available on site and free WiFi is available in all guest rooms.

Guests who check-in before 18:00 will receive complimentary welcome sweets. Every room at this ryokan is air conditioned and comes with a TV. All the staff are polite, helpful and always with a smile. Breakfast was tasty and like an art. Room was comfortable and clean. The 24-hour self service coffee and juice bar was a great bonus. Just wanted to say all good reviews by previous travelers are 100% accurate.
