Only some rooms include a balcony, tatami floors, and free toiletries. Very nice hostel!!! It offers confort, nice common areas, very nice indoor and outside onsen. Staff is really kind, dorms are very clean. I would totally stay here again if I visit Japan again. totally recommended

Opened in April 2017, Hakone Kowakien Tenyu offers Japanese-style rooms with tatami flooring, an open-air bath or ceramic open-air hot springs bath made with Shigaraki pottery. The property boasts views of Tonomine, Myojogatake and Mount Asama. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. So so so beautiful and the staff was amazing only stayed for a night before heading off to my next location but would definitely stay another night to explore Hakone. Tried new foods I normally wouldn’t eat as well which was a great experience as well 🙂‍↕️

Air-conditioned rooms feature a tatami (woven-straw) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. Amenities include an LCD TV, fridge, a safe and yukata robes. All rooms have a private toilet and washbasin, while bathroom facilities are shared. Green tea sets with snacks are provided. The meals we had were fantastic. They served the real kaiseki style meal which consists of variety of local products. The onsen is up to the standard. We booked the private onsen room which is nice but the public one will serve all your needs.

The en suite bathroom comes with toiletries and a bathtub. Onsen in our room was fantastic with an amazing view, cool traditional breakfast, staff was very nice, Location was TOP! Traditional bed weren't super cozy but we knew it in advance.

Main Dining Room "The Fujiya" serves French cuisine in an elegant space. Restaurant Cascade offers Western dishes, while Kikka-so serves traditional Japanese kaiseki dinners. A bar, lounge and bakery are available. Main dining room was a work of art and comfortable the service was exceptional
