Matsushima Koumura ligger i Matsushima, 10 km fra Shiogama-templet og 24 km fra Sendai City Community Support Center. Her er en have og gratis privat parkering samt gratis wi-fi overalt. It was a great stay. We were greeted by the owner of the hotel, a very kind woman and her husband. During our stay we were very well treated: without asking our luggage was brought upstairs, we got nice gifts (sake) and lots of recommendations. The room was clean and spacious with a nice view, the futon mattresses were very comfy. The location was also perfect for us, not too far from the city center but also in a quiet neighbourhood. Above all we also really enjoyed the public bath.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. It was absolutely exceptional, from the food, to the staff, to the service and hot springs, everything was simply immaculate. You cannot get any better than this.

Komatsukan Kofu-tei ligger lige foran Matsushima-bugten og tilbyder indkvartering med gratis internet via kabel. Badene var fantastisk og maden ligeså.

Sakunami Onsen Yuzukushi Salon Ichinobo ligger i Sendai, 27 km fra Sendai City Community Support Center, og har en have, et fælles opholdsområde og en terrasse samt gratis privat parkering. Beautiful property. Wonderful staff. All very helpful and friendly. The public baths were wonderful. Outside baths were 2 different scenarios, one was gorgeous with five separate river rock soaking areas overlooking the river and forest, the other was 1 wooden tub in a small pavilion. Women have the beautiful spot afternoon/evening and swap with the men in the morning. Our room was very large and comfortable with a balcony and private soaking tub. The buffet style dinner and breakfast were delicious. Huge variety of freshly prepared foods. All you could eat and drink, beer, wine, various alcohol, sake, in the restaurant. The reception area had a piano, wood burning central fireplace to sit around. There were small tables with various board games, a library, snacks, beer and wine. Comfortable seating overlooking the hillside that was lit up at night. Very romantic spot to go for a special night.

Suzukiya Ryokan har en god beliggenhed i Kamasaki Onsen-distriktet i Shiroishi. Det ligger 49 km fra Sendai City Community Support Center, 47 km fra Sendai Slot og 48 km fra Zuihoden. Onsen was high class, both inside and outside, Nice and hot too. Dinner and breakfast is a must, very nice traditional meal sets which was nicely presented with great service. Overall experience was so good we will ensure a return visit if it fits in with our travel route through our next trip to Japan. Lovely experience.

The staff were amazing, catering to every need. The place is quiet and very zen. It is perfect for those looking for peace and want to meditate. The onsen facilities are clean and heavenly. There was a private onsen in my room and I enjoyed it ALOT.

かっぱの宿旅館三治郎 ligger i Zao, 38 km fra Sendai City Community Support Center, og har gratis wi-fi samt gratis privat parkering. The staff is very nice and attentive. The dinner is delicious and sumptuous.

竹泉荘 Chikusenso Onsen ligger i Zao, 42 km fra Sendai City Community Support Center, og har et fitnesscenter, en have og et fælles opholdsområde samt gratis privat parkering. I started grinning like a fool as soon as I entered the grounds of Chikusenso. It is everything the pictures show and so, so much more. I was genuinely too delighted to play it cool. A truly beautiful property complete with a river and at least two waterfalls (the grounds are huge, so I can't be sure there aren't more). Inside the premises are just elegant with unique touches like the enormous replica temple bell in the guest lounge. There are 'public'/shared onsen and for the bashful there are also two lovely private onsen to choose from, where the pools are outside so you can hear the river. But it is the staff who elevate this unique and beautiful place to 'exceptional'. Mr Rajan who welcomed me so warmly on arrival and explained the myriad of amenities and services so perfectly. Mr Li, who explained the property's long history and more recent impressive architectural upgrade with such enthusiasm and whose admiration for the local environment almost persuaded me to go hiking. Michiko, in the restaurant who was so warm and sweet she made me feel like I was staying in her own home and her charming colleague who made me a perfect little chair from a champagne wire. I wish I could name all the staff because without exception, they were all wonderful; kind and attentive without ever intruding. Speaking of the restaurant, make sure you have breakfast and dinner there. Over three days the variety and finesse shown by the chef was spectacular. Sitting at the 'chef's table' let me watch the man in action, and it was a masterclass in calm precision in the kitchen. I left this morning and I am already giving serious thought to coming back in January...what more can I say.

TAOYA Akiu har en god beliggenhed i Taihaku Ward-distriktet i Sendai. Det ligger 38 km fra Shiogama-templet, 18 km fra Sendai Slot og 18 km fra Sakuraoka Daijingu. Denne ryokan har 4 stjerner. Taoya Akiu is, in short, fantastic. Location is 2min walking from the bus stop from/to Sendai, but to get there and from there they offer a free shuttle bus (require reservation, ideally now than one day before). The few attractions in the area are all reachable by walking. The resort is huge but services are distributed well and moving around is efficient. Basically everything is included in the price and offered as part of the staying: there are free drink -including alcoholic beverages- and snacks, you can choose your yukata among the different colours avaliable. There are multiple relaxing areas which are all nice and cozy, and there is even a shop inside. The onsen (baths) are gorgeous as you see in the pics. There are 4, two indoor and two outdoor that are assigned in pair to males and females, switching every day (this is standard for Onsen places) so you can try both even if you only stay one night. Check in and out are quick and staff is polite as always in Japan. Both dinner and breakfast are buffet style with quite a huge selection. The room is amazing, large for Japanese standards (and I mean really large) and beautiful with beds in a japense style section in the middle of the room. Super recommended.
