Just a 2-minute walk from Takayama Station, Oyado Koto No Yume offers Japanese-style rooms with a colourful touch. The hotel features hot-spring baths, a restaurant serving breakfast and free WiFi throughout the property. This ryokan is introduced in Michelin Green Guide Japan. Lovely, welcoming and cosy. The common area in the lobby was a great addition to sit and read, play games, chat etc and they loan foot massage machines and aromatherapy oil burners from here too. Great having the public onsen too.

The ryokan has an on-site restaurant which serves local meals. There are drink vending machines for the guests' convenience. This was my third stay now and it keeps impressing me. Tranquil building, polite staff, excellent food and extras like drinks and snacks during the day. It is very relaxing and quiet inside and you can soak in the outside and inside bath as much as you want (private and public). Thank you again for the spontaneous pick up from the bus station when it started pouring. Can recommend at least 2 nights including dinner and breakfast and take your time to get out of the busy cities.

Self check in and check out process was smooth to do especially as we arrived late. Should have stayed another night or made sure to arrive early to properly enjoy the accomodation.

This 4-star ryokan offers luggage storage space and bicycle parking. The ryokan has parking on-site, a hot spring bath and full-day security. The hosts exemplified the warmest hospitality in all of our stays in Japan. This is a very traditional Ryoken that is one of the highlights of our stays in Japan. Wish we could have stayed longer. The onsen was a bonus and the Japanese breakfast was so delicious. We had origami lessons and did some Japanese calligraphy. They made us dinner reservations at an amazing Yakiniku, the most delicious Hida beef we ever had.
