Excellent experience. The setting and room are beautiful. The staff kind and helpful. The food is excellent (I am not a vegan, but enjoyed it anyway). It seemed like we were in such an authentic Japanese place. It was a great change from standard city based hotels. And Koyasan town is a fascinating place. Trip to cemetery is a must.

This onsen hotel has everything I was looking for. The Tatami room is nice and big. The buffet breakfast and dinner offer great variation of foods. The distance to train and bus station is ok. The onsen is super nice. And all the staffs were great and super friendly. I would like to come back. I was super relaxed when I left this place. Thank you Yukai Resort.
Amazing experience at all levels, the lodging was perfect, I was expecting something basic but it was rather similar to a ryokan, big rooms with confortable futons, traditional Japanese furnitures, yukata, complimentary tea in the room, good and very diversified meals, commun and private sento with a big bath tub. Highly spiritual moments on the fire ceremony and the morning prayer, moreover we had a free tour of more than an hour to learn a lot on oesoteric buddhism and the ancient history of the place.
Comfortable tatami room with futon beds. Lots of storage space for luggage. Very friendly and patient host, he took a lot of time to explain everything for us, giving advice for restaurants and breakfast locations.
Amazing view! Superb kaiseki dinner and breakfast. Choice of pretty yukatas to wear. Comfortable futon beds. Shuttle from the train station.
This old-ryokan sits atop a hill overlooking the beach town of Shirahama and some of the elegant rooms have ocean views. While the rooms are tatami-mat traditional, facilities are good and there are western beds. The ryokan has a good onsen and the Japanese breakfasts are spectacular, while also giving a nod to Western tastes.i didn’t get to use the bar or billiard room.
Unique experience of lodging in a beautiful buddhist temple. The place has a very special atmosphere. The (buddhist vegetarian) dinner and breakfast were rich and very tasty. The staff was super welcoming and friendly. Good onsen bath. Traditional Japanese-style room (tatami mats and futon beds) was really spatious and comfortable.
A good hostel, in a good location (though Yunomine onsen is not that big). It had a nice tatami common area that even had a few games provided, such as go. The hostel had its own private hot springs, that are free to use: a lovely outdoor bath, a relatively big indoor bath and a rather small indoor bath. We had booked a private room, not big but fine with three persons. We received bento boxes for dinner and you could grab rice for free. There was also free rice porridge for breakfast. Overall very good value for the price.
I had a great time in Nagisaya Hotel. The room is in traditionnel japanese style (tatami and futon on floor) and had a wonderful view on the sea. The hotel offers interior and exterior onsen where I had my best time with the view on the moutain and a little on the sea (only men onsen has total view on the sea, women are on the other side). The staff is really friendly.
Dinner and breakfast was superb. Loved the old style room with the tatami mats, futon , river view/sounds and japanese style table and chairs. Tattoo friendly onsen in this place and bonus onsen by the river. Staff friendly, helpful and informative. Wi fi reception excellent!
Very nice owner. Good location close to the bus stop. Genuine Japanese experience of staying in Ryokan, among others with sleeping on the tatami. Digging own onsen at a river side is amazing. Food needs to ordered earlier than on arrival.
