Friendly but under- experienced staff. Lack of experience showed on check-in, which took 25 minutes. Room cleaning was competent but not as it should be - one day we had only one bath towel and another we had no shower mat.
Breakfast was good with a wide range if choice but again the service was friendly but hit and miss: I ordered scrambled eggs and bacon but the bacon arrived burnt.
On one evening we ate in the restaurant because it advertised rabbit as a main course. The rabbit was not available. We ordered other dishes including one that claimed to be monkfish but turned out to be smoked shark. We would not have ordered that. The staff were very kind and helpful and we were given a delicious dessert of the chef’s choice by way of compensation- which it certainly was. However, I would be a bit circumspect about eating here again.

Lecce dazzles every visitor offering one of Italy’s best preserved walled historic centres. Its wonders include tasteful traditional cuisine, rich wines, and charming shops. Located near the crystalline waters of both the Adriatic and Ionian beaches, it is a perfect base to explore the Salentine Peninsula.
Its origins are unclear, but it is believed that dates back to the 12th or 11th century BC, when Italic tribes founded a settlement nearby, which Romans later occupied and relocated to its current position. The pages of its history are filled by Byzantine rulers, several invasions, a Norman rebirth, and an annexation to the Kingdom of Sicily.
Its distinctive Baroque style is combined with well-preserved Roman remnants. Don’t miss the historic centre during sunset, when the light creates a perfect contrast between the blue sky and the mild-yellow colour of the limestone buildings. St Oronzo Square houses the Roman Amphitheatre, while the outstanding Holy Cross Basilica is a must. Don’t miss the magic of staying in a hotel or B&B in Lecce’s Old Town.
The city is serviced by the local railway station, while Brindisi Airport is 45 km away. Whether you’re searching for rural accommodation in the surroundings of Lecce, a resort on the nearby beaches, or a cosy guest house in the centre, check out the deals available on Booking.com.
Lecce is a must visit location. Old town is amazing, and very lively unlike other old towns we had visited in Puglia. Maybe because it is a big city. Loads to see. And plenty of food options from local nonna to international standard fares. Get Baroque'd out. Unbelievable. And the papier mache sculptures are truly unbelievable. We were amazed to discover what we thought to be carved timber ceiling is actually papier mache at one of the churches. Visit one of the papier mache artisan shops for a close up look. Seeing the sunset from the Duomo's belltower is another sight worth doing. We enjoyed simply wandering around the old town both during the day as well as after sunset. We felt safe. Also try to get on a vineyard wine tour. Not well advertised but one of the operators we contacted said he was fully booked all the way til September, and we were there in May. Sample good locally produced wine and olive oil. We discovered how good their rosatos can be, using Primitivo and Negroamaro grapes. Lecce is also a good base to explore the Salento peninsula with it's amazing coastline, sea caves, stony beaches, and multiple towns which are short drives away.

Lecce is a lovely city to wander around and explore at leisure. It has an incredible collection of baroque churches and for €12 you can visit the most spectacular ones, especially the Basilica of Santa Croce which has an incredible facade. And you won’t go hungry as there are countless bars and restaurants.

We wholeheartedly recommend to take a guided tour to properly experience the historic city. Also, it is worth trying less touristy restaurants such as Da Mario for an authentic Leccesian cuisine, and ask for the homemade Amaro with the desert.

We stayed three nights, but I wish we'd stayed in Lecce longer. It's a gorgeous walkable city, very wheelchair friendly, unlike many towns in Europe and has amazing baroque architecture. I recommend the Museo Faggiano (although not wheelchair accessible) for those interested in history and Roman Empire artefacts.

Lecce’s old city center has a unique southern Italian charm.
Lecce’s old city center has a unique southern Italian charm. The churches and museums are easy to find on a self guided walking tour. Beware, the streets are narrow and vehicles weave around and through the pedestrians. The Museo Archeologico Faggiano is a recent Lecce underground discovery not to be missed, a highlight of our visit. A walk through the free castle entry reveals an excavated ancient sight. On the other side of the walk through is a flea market of vendors offering discounted clothing, linens, jewelry and plants. On our walk we also found a paper mache art studio with glass wall and you can observe the artist applying paste and paper to a statue in progress. The gelato at the Porta Rudiae is divine. The city is beautifully lighted for a night stroll.

Dimi House is a fantastic place to stay in Lecce. The shared facilities where you have your breakfast is just absolutely beautiful and super cosy. The rooms are lovely and gives you the perfect romantic feeling, and then the shower is great! 😄 would definitely come back! The owner is also very sweet and helpful, and made good recommendations even to other great destinations in Italy. You will not be disappointed. It’s great value for money and the best place we stayed in on our whole trip 🫶
Warm welcome by owners. Accommodation is very well furnished and I like the eclectic style. My wife liked the bathrobes- the only place to include these so 5 stars!. Also, best breakfast out of 6 masserias/hotels we stayed in on a tour of Puglia: home-made cakes and food choice was superb-plus I like the communal dining table as well as the choice of dining on individual tables. Hotel is well located on the edge of the Old Town so easy to walk in and to see all that Cecce has to offer.
Lu Leccio was the best place I've stayed in for a while, the hotel is beautiful, has a fantastic location in the Lecce old center of town, the hotel staff is super friendly (especially Giovanni), easy to communicate with and helpful and the rooms are spacious and clean.
We booked one of the suites with a private terrace and it was the perfect spot for the two of us. We will definitely be back!
The breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was also delicious! Highly recommended!
Excellent location and an easy walk into centro storico Lecce but there are also good bars, restaurants and shops near by. The terrace is huge and lovely for having coffee, meals or just lounging. Arturo is an excellent host and provided coffee pods, olive oil and condiments plus a bottle of wine! The apartment is very well laid out and the kitchen is compact but we prepared several meals during our stay. There is even a toaster which is unusual for Italy and it was very quiet.
Great, fully renovated boutique b'n'b, just minutes from the Old Town Lecce. Everything is refurbished with attention to detail, from terazzo floors in the entry hall to handrails and doorknobs. We stayed in a spacious and comfortable room with modern bathroom. The host Franceco was discreet and helpful. The b'n'b also has a nice and stylish communal area. Free on-street parking. If you plan to explore the baroque masterpiece that Lecce is, this accommodation is a perfect base.
The place is located about 10 min from the old town and it was a really nice walk from and to the apartment. It's also just a few min from the modern center. So everything is very close, but the area is pretty quiet. The apartment is nice, comfortable and is equipped with a lot of things - dishes, coffee, board games etc. Dario is one of the best hosts we've ever had - he is very kind and helpful and when we come back to Lecce, we'd be more than happy to stay here again. 😊
Simply stunning. Short walk from edge of Lecce old town. Hotel on quiet road with safe access. Room was huge! Great balcony. Helpful staff. As clean as it could possibly be. The breakfast….. OH MY WORD. Enough meat, cheese, fruit, cake, pastries, coffee to feed a small army. It was absolutelt delicious. We are planning to get married in Lecce next year and we will be crossing our fingers that we can reserve all the rooms in this hotel for some of our guests!!
Location in Lecce is perfect and hotel and surroundings very well looked after.Staff at this hotel were exceptional and happily assissted us with a small problem we had.
Room was large and very clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast well catered for and staff at breakfast very attentive. Although rather expensive, probably the best hotel we stayed in while in Puglia.
Staff incredibly welcoming and facilities superb in this stylish and quirky hotel. Breakfast excellent and dinner, panko prawns with thai sauce, was wonderful. Very helpful receptionist arranged transport to airport all added to bill which meant no need to get additional cash at the end of my cooking holiday in Puglia. Lecce is a beautiful and fascinating city.
If you’re looking for old world charm, this is the apartment for you. Large, spacious common areas. The main bedroom is spacious with patio access. Very quiet and peaceful. Great location in Lecce! Nice to have a washing machine in the apartment. The host is amazing! She was responsive, provided helpful information with parking and restaurant recommendations.
The location of this hotel was fantastic! Lecce is a beautiful city and not to be missed. We used this hotel as a home base for day trips to the neighboring towns. The hotel breakfast with Anna was lovely and the front desk attendants were super helpful and made us some fantastic dining reservations!
Francesca and Jose were gracious hosts, very helpful so very proud of the beautiful apartment that the rent. So they should be. The best accommodations we have had in our month log trip of Italy. If you don’t stay here you will miss out in Lecce !!
Great location within walking distance to Old Town of Lecce and restaurants , decent room , clean , good breakfast , Daniele was very helpful , loved that there was free parking on street , enjoyed our stay
Very clean and welcoming property, I can easily compare it to a five star hotels I stayed in.
So far this is my fifth spot and Italy and by far it was the best experience.
