Perfect location near the central station. The room was nice and quiet (my wife is sensitive to noise and with closed windows we had no issues at all).
The reception is an interesting experience, as it might feel a bit creepy, but at the same time I enjoyed it a lot and it's definitely one of the highlights that I will remember :) Those are not some cheap gimmicks, but very well done and integrated in check in/out animatronics. Nothing special, but being done well, it provided us with a memorable experience :)

Rooms were a little small although neat and clean, and perfect for rest after a day of walking. The balcony was very welcome. Other facilities such as the lounges, coffee and tea facilities, music and drinks in the evenings, laundry, and bathing house were also very good. Proximity to Kyoto Railway Station was perfect.

A vibrant city with so many attractions worth visiting and enjoying. The locals are so polite and helpful it makes tourng around the city so much esier. Unfortunately many others love Kyoto as well and the crowds at key attractions can be duanting I feel for the locals trying to go about their daya to day activities in amongst so many tourists.

Smaller than Tokyo, Kyoto offers more Temples, shrines and gardens with less travel. Use of local buses in recommended, although busy, the fix price, 230yen, makes for good value. Southern Tori gates can be reached on the train. A great area, but long pull to the top for not a great deal of return. Maybe stop at the viewpoints.

Kyoto Castle, Golden Pavilion and Silver Pavilion worth...
Kyoto Castle, Golden Pavilion and Silver Pavilion worth seeing and walking back down the Philosophers Path. Pontocho area by the river is atmospheric, Gion Corner (show) was enjoyable.
However, the Higashiyama area between Kodai-ji and Kiyomizu-dera was chock full of tour groups when we visited one afternoon. Maybe a very early morning or evening visit would be better.

4 days in Kyoto was enough for us to explore the city. We loved the temples, matcha houses, old streets of Kyoto, restaurants, and the area with the houses near the bamboo forest. Definitely worth visiting!

Kyoto is an amazing city, and well-connected to other cities/towns in Kansai area. It is a bit crowded due to tourism but if the crowds are too much, simply take a day trip to the mountains and nature around! We really enjoyed Arashiyama area, and the town of Uji (the town of matcha/tea)!

Nice place to visit if interested in taking a short or long walks. They have so many shrines and Temples. Kyoto have good shopping malls and restaurants that cater for all budgets. Lovely place to visit. Highly recommended.
The best location! In front of Yasaka Shrine, walking distance Ninenzaka, Senenzaka, Kiyomuduzera, Nishiki Market and a lot more. 1 train to Fushima Inari, 1 bus to philosophers path. We watched the sunset at the nearby river while drinking coffee, had walked throught the streets of Gion at night, walked through temples in the morning. Starbucks at 1st floor and outside is full of japanese street foods. Good hotel breakfast, the rooms were clean and big enough, good ammenities. Loved my stay here for 5days in Kyoto.
The staff is excellent. They are very helpful and attentive. They always greeted us when we would leave the hotel and come back. Very modern and clean facility. The breakfast was the star of the show. The hotel breakfast may have been one of the best meals we have ate on this Japan trip and we have been to Japan multiple times before. We at there twice in 3 days. There is a also a very good grocery store underneath the hotel. This hotel is great for families also. We highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is very pretty, clean and well maintained and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious, which was perfect for us traveling with our small daughter, bringing not only our luggage but also a stroller. I think the absolute best part about this hotel is its amazing location, super close to the next bus stop and perfect to walk to most locations (we walked to Kiyomizudera, all around Gion, to Pontocho and Sanjusangendo.
Room was great as it was just the right size for a couple and the best part was we had a washing machine. The room was somewhat traditional but a must during your stay to Japan. Beds a little hard. Bathroom a little small but fine for 3 nights. It was boutique style. Location was within walking distance to Gion district & Nishiki Markets. Right near subway station and plenty of eateries.
I had a comfortable stay in this hotel. Check in and check out was a breeze. But the best part is the location. Walking distance to downtown Kyoto - Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, Gion District are few minutes walk away. Also near train stations. The hotel is tucked in an alley so it is quiet but at the same time near the main street which is lined with shops and restaurants.
This location was brilliant. Directly above the Kyoto Station. This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were second to none. On arrival we had issues with our SIM and the concierge was so helpful. She made many phone calls and was able to fix our problem.
The bed was so comfortable. The buffet breakfast was extensive. We will definitely return!!
This was the best hotel I ever stayed at. The price was exceptionally low but this really has all the qualities of a 5 star hotel except for room size. Everything else is of the highest taste, comfortable, exceptional bathroom, cozy bed. The location is about 15 minutes from the historical old town. The staff was friendly. Didn't take breakfast.
This was the best value hotel in our 3 weeks trip in Japan. Clean and comfortable beds, new towels, coffee and amenities changed daily, shuttle bus to and from Kyoto Station, incredible buffet breakfast and it's so affordable we would definitely stay again if we could. Staff is super friendly and spoke English incredibly well.
In Japan in 10 days I changed 5 cities and 4 hotels. This was the best! Amazing Onsen, breakfast is 5 star quality, I loved their toast with Salmon and eggs! Friendly staff, very supportive and kind, the best location, right next to the Kyoto Station, easy to move around. I would definitely come back here again and again
The hotel is fabulous for everything.
Very well connected, very clean and just perfect room in all aspects: felt like a 5 stars. All amenities, including bath salts are included and for you to choose every day. Quiet room, paid 28 euros per night, best value EVER. I will come back for sure
a cosy boutique hotel which had the basic amenities available at the Reception. Was a bit of a walk from the train station and was not practical to lug bags there. Best to take a taxi from the train station. Small rooms but we were comfortable. Friendly staff.
The best part of the hotel was the location to so many great food places and how close it was to the subway station as well. It was really nice to be able to take a break throughout the day and stop by our hotel to take refuge in the air conditioning.
Probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. It’s right across Kyoto Station, the room I got has great space. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. The breakfast was generally okay though I wish they would put allergy labels on them.
Subway station directly below hotel.
A la Carte Breakfast was really good. The presentation and quality of the ingredients was excellent.
Sumpton Coffee Roasters (located across the lobby) were best coffees I had in Japan - SO GOOD.
the interiors and furnitures are amazing. we have been Kyoto several times though,it was the best hotel ever in Kyoto.
perfect location which is in the quiet area and close to the station, there is a nice bakery store nearby too.
Everything was wonderful! King room was very comfortable, staff were welcoming and helpful with recommendations, very clean, excellent location for exploring Gion and surrounds. Our best hotel experience in Japan!
The best part of the hotel is the position super close to Kyoto JR station, which is very useful if you need to travel the Kansai region a lot. That's all, nothing more nothing less.
We really liked the location of this hotel (near enough to Kyoto station but away from the bustle) and the value for money was one of the best we could find to visit the city.
Brilliant stay. The best hostel we have ever been to. It felt like a 5 star hotel. Communal kitchen was very clean and well stocked. The whole hotel was very well designed.
