The property was spotlessly clean. The check in clerk was very friendly and gave us lots of information about where to eat in the local area. We had a suite upstairs and a sea view (breathtaking) and there was lots of information at hand in the room for places to visit/eat. We ate in the local Indian restaurant and had drinks at the stack, followed by a beach walk next morning. The bed was super comfortable and this was hands down the nicest hotel I’ve stayed in, in the north east.

You need to book well in advance if you want to watch the Black Cats at the stadium of light! There is a nice railway connection to nearby Seaham if you want to visit. You can walk along the Wear through a sculpture park and the city centre is excellent for cheap food and drink.

Sunderland is a lovely city with lots of things to see and do. The coast here is beautiful with interesting beaches and walks. The people we spoke to were welcoming and friendly everywhere we went.
