Our second stay at this beautiful property. The large room (Deluxe Junior Suite) was very nicely equipped, very modern, and very comfortable. Thoughtful and interesting touches abound throughout. For example, our suite was named for a particular vineyard owned by SA Prum, and a map illustrated where it was located and informed us of its history. An honor refrigerator and bar was set up in the entry vestibule, stocked with SA Prum and other local wines, as well as a beer brewed about a mile away. E-bikes and regular bikes were available. A considerable amount of local information was on hand. Patio and gazebo areas are right outside the door in the midst of this working winery. The continental breakfast was very good, with eggs/bacon to order available. The staff was very informative and accommodating. A truly exceptional small property, well-located as a base to explore the Mosel Valley. Bernkastel-Kues is very close by, but SA Prum, in Wehlen, is just far enough away to avoid the crowds.

It had an accessible room on the ground floor for wheelchair users. It's difficult to find this in the Moselle Valley. This and a decent bed were the ONLY things we liked. I would only stay here for 1 night at the most, if you don't have another option. See my comments in the section "What didn't you like" for the problems with this place.

Bernkastel kues is a small but well appointed town, with big supermarkets for all of your self catering accommodation needs. A good selection of restaurants and a few bars, to my point of view and UK experience with bars where there is no smoking in them it could be a little un pleasant in some BUT not all as there are some smoke free.
The Xmas Market and advent calendar house are well worth visiting with a very relaxed but busy vibe. The river cruise/trip is a nice way to spend an hour or so, there are longer trips available but in December when we were there it's a limited run so to speak.
All in all for our 4 night stay it was ideal.

We went for the winter market and while it was raining a bit, the market experience did not disappoint. It was a beautiful, postcard perfect, little town square with one building having an advent on the side of its walls - it is famed as being the largest advent calendar in Europe and they are probably right - watching them open one of the doors was great. The food, drink, and other items for sale as well as the atmosphere were fantastic. My family are big fans of winter markets and this one rates in our Top 5. We also walked up to the ruins of the castle overlooking the town - great view of the town and river. If you love Asian food, you must try Dian's - some of the best food I have eaten including having lived in SE Asia for 6 years.

The beautiful medieval town of Bernkastel is almost complete and exceedingly well maintained. Plenty eating places, lively vibe, great for walking if fit (hills and vineyards and forest) but flat walking or cycling along the riverside was beautiful. Also an unexpected pleasure was museum Zylinderhaus & restaurant . Walked down from the castle to a lovely lunch at the Schutzenhaus with a stunning balcony view of the Mosel.

Charming little town on the river Mosel.
Charming little town on the river Mosel. Because of it’s size the town itself is good for maximum 1 day of sightseeing but deserves at least one night to stay. Though it is a lovely starting point or base to see the area along the River Mosel, with interesting places such as Cochem, Trier, Burg Eltz, Traben Trarbach, Beilstein, Saarburg or even Luxemburg.

Bernkastel Kues is a hidden gem in the Mosel Valley.
Bernkastel Kues is a hidden gem in the Mosel Valley. It gets very busy in the summer. There's lots to do especially if you like walking or biking, as easy or as hard as you want. The best time is in December during the Christingle Nacht celebrations during advent.

A truly glorious location directly across the road from the river Mosel with spectacular views of the vines known as the Bernkasteler Doktor. Our deluxe room was superb. A spacious light filled room with extra comfortable bed. The bathroom was top notch with all necessary amenities. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The experience was topped off by a welcome gift of delicious hors d’oeuvres and a bottle of first class Riesling. When in Bernkastel-Kues you can’t go past staying at this delightful hotel
The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional; and the hotel has very modern amenities. Unbelievably clean, with very comfortable rooms and facilities. The breakfast was very good, with a good variety of both European foods and standard American fare such as scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Secure parking under the hotel helped put my mind at ease. You would have to search for a reason to not be satisfied.
The breakfast buffet was wonderful. Coffee, rolls, cold cuts, cheeses, scrambled eggs and juices. Room was very spacious, with room for luggage. Bathroom had shower, toilet and sink with mirror. Large windows on two sides. Noise from the bar down the street on Saturday night was distracting, but not unexpected. Sunday night was quiet. Staff at the hotel were courteous and helpful. Look forward to our next stay!!!
We were the only people staying at the Hotel that night. The owners left us with details on how to access drink if needed - completely trusting us - That was very welcoming. The breakfast laid out for us the next morning was one of the best of our holiday. Although the restaurant wasn't open that night the hotel is within an easy walk of a superb Italian restaurant. I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.
We used our stay as a night halt from southern Germany to Calais and it was ideal, although we would have liked longer! Margot, our host gave us a lovely welcome, the place is stunning, with beautiful views and in a great location, away from the many tourists in Bernkastel-Kues, yet close enough to walk in. Apartment was extremely well equipped and beds very comfy. Thank you, Port family!
very clean and nice room. it is on a 20 to 30 min walk from Bernkastel city centre. we especially chose this location to be away from the cente during the wine festival. The hotel has also a restaurant. The food is very good but the menu is limited compared to some other restaurants.
very positive experience
Great location. Our rooms were very clean & nice. We particularly loved the ambiance of the hotel restaurant & our dinner was above expectations—fabulous! Breakfast was good. One of the best things about the hotel was the staff. They were so friendly & accommodating. Wonderful experience.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very clean room with comfortable beds and nice bedding. The breakfast was also great. The hotel is a great value for the price. I would highly recommend it. The safe space to lock our bikes was also nice.
Quiet and very accessible location on the edge of town. 20-30 min walk to the heart of Bernkastel-Kues. Great hosts and Very responsive. I will stay here again if in the area. kitchen had everything needed.
A very nice hotel ideally located on the river bank and just off the town's beautiful main square.
The room was spacious and the bed was very comfy. Breakfast is good.
Within the historic town of Bernkastel, a charming, clean and well organized hotel. Excellent food in the restaurant. Staff doing everything to ensure a wonderful stay.
Beautifully recently renovated hotel with nice, clean, modern feel. The nicest and most helpful staff and a good breakfast. Also perfect location and great views.
