It was so much better than I expected and also close to the small town within walking distance via a pathway, about 10 minutes walk. I think we saw more wildlife in this area than other places we visited such as Fortuna which is on the recommended tourist trial. You feel like you are in your own little tropical rain forest and rooms are not overlooked . All facilities around the pool are also great.

But what is absolutely exceptional is the location of the accommodation. The cottage is in a beautiful garden on the border of the town and the Cahuita National Park. This means that in a few minutes you can reach a well-stocked supermarket, restaurants. At the same time, you are a short distance from several beautiful and (in July) almost empty beaches and a tropical rainforest. As a bonus, capuchin and howler monkeys roam around the cottage almost daily, but you can also see agoutis, toucans and hummingbirds there. It's like you are staying in the middle of a zoo.

We really loved the location—close enough to Puerto Viejo to get to town quickly, yet totally surrounded by nature, quiet, and very peaceful. The house feels safe and private, with comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. It has great ventilation, which kept the spaces fresh, and the design gives off a true Caribbean vibe. The property is beautiful and clearly very well taken care of, and the spacious kitchen and living area were perfect for cooking, relaxing, and spending time together as a group.
