It is only about 800m down to the coastline but the accommodations were in the beautiful jungle. The pool is such a fantastic facility. It was clean and may chairs are in the shade. The outside living on the covered patio was lovely. The kitchen was very well stocked and the appliances new. Xavier was very approachable and very proud of the property as he and Anne should be. And….there were no mosquitoes (mid-December)

Helpful neighbors let me know that I could wait at the local beach. There is an octagonal pool just a step away that also has a great view of the ocean and it makes a great place from which to watch the sun set. The area is quiet and calm. It's not a touristy place and made a great place to just relax and enjoy the views and nature. The beach is a bit of a walk up and down very steep roads. (25% grade?) If you are fit, it's a good workout. There is a restaurant and further a beach bar. The location makes a nice central point from which to explore the west coast of the island. Enough about the property, over my hosts I cannot say enough kind things. They were so warm, caring and welcoming. In my many travels, I rarely meet such wonderful people. Although I do not speak French, we communicated via Google Translate on my phone. That led to some amusement with mis-translations. However we enjoyed a number of conversations. When the power went out one evening, she came along with lights for me. When I needed to see a doctor, she arranged that for me. I felt well cared for - above and beyond, really. I would gladly stay here again if only for the hosts.
