Hostel Ko Kut เที่ยว&นอน bevindt zich in Ko Kut, op 13 minuten lopen van Klong Chao Beach, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. We originally booked just two nights because we were a bit unsure – mainly due to the limited number of reviews and the fact that it’s called a “hostel.” But we ended up extending our stay by another four nights and had a wonderful time! The few reviews are simply because the place only opened last year. The term “hostel” is actually a bit misleading – there are just three private single rooms (with shared bathrooms), so it’s much quieter and more private than you might expect. The host also plans to build a shared dorm on the other side of the building in the future. One of the best things is the price – it’s very affordable compared to most other places on Koh Kood. Despite the low cost, everything was always clean, especially the bathroom. The host was super friendly and always responded quickly to messages. There’s a fridge and a small kitchenette with dishes downstairs in the shared area. Each room has a shelf for your stuff and a fan, and the doors are fitted with extra insect screens. (If you’re sensitive to bugs, you might want to bring a mosquito net – there’s room to hang one over the bed.) We had one of the two rooms upstairs and loved the terrace – it was perfect for hanging our hammock and gym rings, and we had plenty of space to dry clothes. Every evening, a few tokay geckos would show up, which – as you might know – are considered good luck in Thailand! The location is also great – relatively quiet, with a few restaurants, small shops, a laundry, and a pharmacy all nearby. Ao Taphao Beach is just 1.5 km away, and the whole island is easy to explore by scooter, which you can rent directly from the host at a fair price. In short: this is a budget-friendly place that delivers exactly what it promises. If you’re looking for more luxury, you’ll probably need to spend a bit more. But for what it is, we thought it was great – and we really don’t understand the negative reviews!
