excellent price for an area where other properties were coming up much higher in price. this was affordable, clean, comfortable and perfect size. it’s not a hotel, has a home feel to it, has all the facilities you need and is about 15 -20 min walk to the centre.

Hosts were exceptional...they go beyond to care for their guests. We had car problems and they were very understanding and accommodating ! Wished we had more time at this wonderful accommodation, to further experience it's fabulous onsite restaurant and private beach across the street with beautiful mountain views overlooking Bellagio. First of all, our host was an amazing and lovely lady. Rita is the proprietor of the hotel and made us feel very welcome. Due to the terrible weather Italia was having at this time, there was actually a landslide that damaged the railway. Rita ensured that we were able to get to Varenna, and also assisted us with our departure. The hotel is exceptionally beautiful. The rooms are very comfortable. The swimming pool is lovely on a hot day. Castello di Vizeo is a very pleasant two or three minutes walk away. The Castle is not to be missed and affords amazing views over Lake Como. Rita also cooked for us both evenings and we had nice meals. We will really consider staying here again in the future!

The atmosphere of the small village and the property itself was incredible. Like being somewhere a few hundred years ago with all the comforts of our times. But it is all real, not fake, not remade for tourists. It was charming, peaceful, and unique. The owner is also very kind and helpful. The restaurant on site is pleasant. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. Beautiful hiking trail and a very nice waterfall nearby.

We were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and given a tour of the premises. Our room was small but had every comfort we could wish for: a clean bathroom, free toiletries, good airco, a comfortable bed, a mini fridge with complimentary water and a balcony with incredible views over the private beach and the lake. The receptionist was also kind to give us recommendations on where to go in the area and checking in on us during our stay. We will definitely return!
