Set in National Park, Mountain Heights Lodge offers six self-contained motel units and four ensuite B&B rooms, BnB rooms welcomes children over the age of 14 and above. Private parking is free.

The nearest airport is Taupo Airport, 78 km from Mountain Heights Lodge. My husband and our 6-month-old son stayed at the Family Unit at the Lodge on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The staff were very helpful. We told them we were going to arrive late after the check-in time and they had our room ready and available making it easier for us to settle in once we arrived. The room was clean, spacious, warm, and had a nice view out the back. Housekeeping was also provided daily. There were a lot of clean towels and the bed was so comfortable. The small kitchen had all the basic kitchenware that we needed to prepare our own meals for the 2 days. The location was very convenient for us it's close to the Tongariro crossing and just 20 mins away from the Whakapapa Ski Park which we visited. There is also a convenience shop 2 minutes down the road. We also made a day trip to Lake Taupo and back which was just an hour's drive away. Continental breakfast is also served every morning for $15. Highly recommend the lodge if you're planning a trip to Tongariro or the National Park.
