The location was perfect in the little town and very walkable to shopping, bus transportation, restaurants, and other eateries. The location also was centrally located for all the attractions on Awaji Island and I highly recommend taking the SoMa bus if you don't have a car to all the botanical gardens and other attractions on the island. The traditional Onsen spas is a must to try! I have never had an spa this exceptional in anywhere I have traveled to and I highly recommend the spa services. There is an Ayurvedic treatment of warm oil dripping on your forehead as you receive a head massage. The food is par excellence, featuring local products that will not disappoint. Their dessert bar with hand-made ice creams and treats are a delight. The service was exceptional! We had an English speaking staff member, Sara, who made our trip incredibly comfortable. Sara is extremely knowledgeable and assisted us in transportation to our separate airports. I will be going back and brining my husband who needs to experience this sensational resort hotel.

Nagisa-no-Sho Hanagoyomi biedt ruime kamers in Japanse stijl met een spectaculair uitzicht op zee. Sommige kamers hebben een terras en een eigen warmwaterbron in de openlucht. We took the room with open bath. It was the best relaxing experience we have ever had. Beautiful ocean view from the room and also from the open bath. You can hear the sound of waves, birds,etc. Exceptional experience. Dinner and breakfast were also exceptional.

GRAND NIKKO AWAJI is located across Akashi Strait Bridge, a 20-minute drive from JR Maiko Station. We chose this hotel because it is part of the the expansive Awaji Yumebutai gardens and architectural masterpieces designed by Tadao Ando. It was amazing to walk around the grounds and see the open air theater, gardens, sculptures, and more. Loved the breakfast buffet, too! Beautiful views from every room.

Grand Mercure Awaji Island Resort & Spa bevindt zich in Minamiawaji, en heeft een tuin en een restaurant. Onsen was very nice. Staff was super friendly. Buffet was good.
