Renate and her husband are great hosts and it was super easy to communicate with them. The house is really good. It appears to have been refurbished (as least parts of it) but it is still a cosy traditional norwegian cottage by the mountains. The view from the house is incredible with the fjords. And if you're looking for a place to spot northern lights, this is the place to be. As it is outside of town (~25min by car), there are not many lights in the surrounding, so we could literally see the northern lights from the windows, from the balcony, and if you want a spot that is 100% dark, its just walking west for five minutes. I strongly recommend this place!

The property is well equipped, clean, welcoming, and has everything you could want, all set in a dreamlike natural setting. The owner was extremely welcoming. He asked us frequently if we needed anything else, even though he had already provided us with everything we required. The area where the house is located is extremely favorable for viewing the Northern Lights.

The villa’s location is truly exceptional — tucked away at the end of a serene fjord, it offers total privacy and a breathtaking terrace. The reality far surpasses the photos. Communication with the host was flawless. Even before our arrival, we received detailed information about where to shop, store hours, how to access the property — everything was perfectly organized. One of the highlights of our stay was the boat trip with the owner. He took us out on the sea, we went fishing together, and he even prepared a delicious meal for us right on the boat. He also recommended local places to eat — we ended up having the best fish soup in all of Tromsø. We wholeheartedly recommend this place. If you’re planning a trip to Tromsø, skip staying in the city. Choose Tromvik instead — just like we did — and experience the stunning views, the peaceful atmosphere, and the comfort this place has to offer.

Kvaløya Lodge beschikt over uitzicht op de bergen, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin en een balkon, op 22 km van University of Tromsø. Alles! 10 +++! Wat een fijn, warm en gezellig huis. Alles is aanwezig wat je ook maar kan bedenken. Maar...... Niet alleen het huis maar zeker ook een 10+++ voor de eigenaar, zo spontaan en vriendelijk. Veel goede tips waar we ook zoveel mogelijk van hebben gedaan. Komen hier zeker terug!! En.....noorderlicht twee avonden vanaf het balkon. Dus zoals de eigenaar al aangeeft, boek geen tour! Als het er is is het zeker vanaf hier goed te zien🙃.

The house was spacious, very clean, and felt like a home <3 the property is on the water — it’s very beautiful and serene. There was a sauna on-site that we used for an extra fee. It was awesome!
