Daphne was an incredibly lovely host who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She accommodated my request for a vegan breakfast without any hesitation, provided great advice for an evening meal, and would have provided me with a packed lunch as well if I had wanted. The residents lounge was a lovely area to relax and meet other guests. The property including the garden are beautiful and steeped in history. I was expecting only a simple room but it far exceeded this. The bed and room were cosy and comfortable with a very will appointed en suite. I had a wonderful view overlooking the garden and valley and was woken by the sound of the dawn chorus which was fabulous. I travel a good bit and must say that I was blown away with how amazing this place (and Daphne) was. It was reflected when talking to other repeat guests and with Daphne herself of course. I stayed 4 nights, had a lovely room, the breakfast was great, and the beef casserole in the evening was amazing! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There's a very special atmosphere at Jacobs Well. You can tell that the hotel is much loved by the owners and staff, as well as the customers.

Our room was exactly as seen in the pictures: a self-contained "pod" with a huge bed and incredible views to the sea across a great green field. The pod was very well equipped with climate control, good bathroom and a mini kitchen. Secluded and quiet

Really enjoyed our stay in Avoca.
Really enjoyed our stay in Avoca. You do need a car to get around and see the beautiful scenery. We walked to the Miners Cross a bit of a hike but doable and the view from the top was breathtaking. We had to eat outside of Avoca and chose Wooden bridge which we would recommend. The meeting of the waters is a beautiful location and you can enjoy a pint in their pub. Its a bit run down but it is still a beautiful place to enjoy a drink or a coffee :-)

Avoca is a quaint and tranquil old time town but yet had all the modern conveniences we have grown accustomed to but this take away from the relaxing atmosphere of the beautiful surroundings. It is central too all the other points of interest travellers would be interested in like glendalough, powers court waterfall, estate and gardens. It also is the place we're ballykissangel was set which allows vustmitiers a chance to visit the location of the programme. Its small in stature but makes a big impression.

We visited Glendalough and hiked through some of the trails to the very scenic lakes and waterfall. A car is the best way to get around Avoca to see the sights. We had a delicious bowl of seafood chowder in the pub at the Wooden Bridge Hotel. Avoca is a lovely place to visit.

A stunning area with lots to explore.
A stunning area with lots to explore. The Avoca Mill is a must. We loved Glendalough and also the Greenan Maze. The Motte stone provides stunning views of the area, but it was a challenge to find! The nearby Killmacurragh Gardens were lovely too.
A massive thank you to our wonderful hosts, I stayed here with my husband and my inlaws and couldn't be happier with the service or with the accommodation, beyond the postcard perfect views the wee shop, pub and craft area we're icing on top of the cake. We were even given matching rooms to ensure there would be no running to claim the bigger of the two!!
We will definitely be putting the meetings on the top of our list of places to stay on our next tour of the South

Location was breathtaking, the view from the breakfast table was something to behold, the service was excellent , very helpful, food was great, the local people that used the establishment were very helpful and courteous to me , nestled on two rivers that meet, it was just a wonderful stay , so much that I booked another visit 4 weeks after my stay,
Lovely little family run country style hotel in a gorgeous location at the Meeting of the Waters. Cute little shop on site with a great selection of alcohol and basics. A lovely shared balcony area for guest overlooking the river which you are free to sit on with your own food & drink. Excellent Irish breakfast.
The surroundings were beautiful! The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the rooms were comfortable and clean.
We needed a break from the city and this was perfect.
The limited service did pose a challenge with the food delivery app, but we got that sorted with a little bit of patience.
Staff were very friendly, the room was as good if not better than other hotels we’ve stayed at, the smart tv was an unexpected but great addition, the location is gorgeous and even though our room didn’t overlook the river the view was still beautiful. Photos don’t do it justice.
There was a lovely homely feeling about The Meetings. The location was stunning & the satff vwere so lovely. It was near Rathdrum Avoca Redcross & Woodenbridge. Lovely walks around the area also.
The location was beautiful.
Friendly helpful staff.
Catered for non dairy, which i was a surprising because the previous hotels i stayed in did not cater for at all. So good point there!
