I was in Italy getting to know the country from north to south, and I can say with total certainty that the best place where I was was in il architetto de jacobo, the spectacular room, with a window with a beautiful view of the city center. Located in the quietest, safest and most beautiful area of the city.
The breakfast was one of the most complete that I ate on a trip through the country with selected and very high quality products, in a very quiet environment
Last but not least, the Jacobo the owner, is a gentleman, a very kind man who knows the city like the back of his own hand. He gave me all the tips I needed to make my tour of the city easier.

The historic piazza Mercato and the area there(just round the cornner and ?100 m down a shopping street) was wonderful. Modern services with cafes/restaurants and interesting shops made up the perimeter of the piazza . Despite its comfort and accommodation of modern details the historic atmosphere and authenticity wasn't compromised. There was a fabulous bookshop (for almost any subject I think) but brilliant for alpinism/alpine history. Supermarkets were <1km away, train <1 km away, peaceful at night - you can't not love it which is why people from Switzerland cross the border to enjoy life in some warmer sun

If you don't speak Italian and you don't have your own car...
If you don't speak Italian and you don't have your own car either skip Domodossola or make sure you are staying in a place right in town. Once you leave the center of town it's not a walkable place. The drivers race everywhere despite the narrow streets, there aren't any sidewalks in the residential areas and it's extremely difficult to find anyone who can speak English.
On the positive side the prices were a lot lower for everything than in Switzerland and the architecture and scenery was beautiful.

Having had a great two night stay we extended it a further two night which we quickly regretted.
The noise which started on the third night was intolerable. A local bar started blasting loud music around 5pm. The police drove passed several times but didn't intervene until around 11pm. This did not stop the music or noise. When the music stopped just before midnight we had endured it for almost 7hours non-stop. We were exhausted and the shouting of people outside (including young children at the bar) continued into the early hours of the morning. We would not return!

Beautiful little medieval centre, lots of pedestrian streets, masses of good restaurants, fabulous setting in the mountains.
Not too busy even in high summer, and friendly locals. Well-connected by trains to Switzerland and the rest of Italy.

Local residents are very friendly, helpful people.
Local residents are very friendly, helpful people. The life is so laidback, food is amazing. You can try loads of different type of wines, all of them was really nice. You can find vegan restaurants and the are cater for gluten free as well. If you want a really relaxing holiday, I highly recommend this little beautiful town.
What a great guesthouse! Anna is so warm and welcoming, and our room was comfortable, clean, spacious, and stylish. Of special note is the bed, which was just perfect. And the breakfast was delicious, with many local and homemade items.
The location is great -- just off the old main square, close to restaurants, and an easy walk to the main train station.
Highly recommended!
Location is in a walking distance to everything you'd need in Domodossola. Hosts are super friendly and helpful, communication went smoothly though we speak different languages. Easy check-in/out, the room was clean and cosy
Overall, I had a good sleep here and would definitely consider this place if visiting Domodossola again.
Charming two bedroom suite right in the heart of Domodossola.
Everything really close , great restaurants and cafes nearby!
Parking was available and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, offering water right after we arrived. They took time to explain everything and direct us towards the highlights of the city.
Perfect place to feel the old town of Domodossola. It’s located around the corner of picturesque place, Piazza Mercanto, which is 7 minutes on foot from the train station. The apartment seems newly renovated and very clean even though the house is very old. The host is very kind and willing to assist
Location is excellent, as just around the corner from the best café and restaurant street, but quite a long and bumpy walk from the station. Bed was comfortable, although quite a small double, and there was a sofa with TV in the room divider (we never even turn on TVs in hotels).
Perfect location for our trip, the owner Maurilio was kind, available, knowledgeable. the apartment had all the features needed and much more than that. Tons of info about Domodossola, where to go, where to eat, best places to visit…even bikes to explore the lovely town.
very large room with balcony in the heart of Domodossola. Calm place, but just 5 minutes walk to shops and restaurantsof city and 5 minutes walk to bus and train station. No breakfast, but very nice bar La Santa Barbara round the corner.
A very comfortable and good-sized room in a slightly quirky house. I loved it!
Only 10 minutes walk from station and delightful town centre.
The host provided a nice snack breakfast in the morning.
A nice change from chain hotels!!
The owner of the place was kind and welcomed us warmly, the hotel combines an ancient building with modern rooms, I would definitely love to come back next time and I will also recommend this place to my friends
Everything! They were so nice and great value. We had been traveling for a bit and this is exactly what we needed to wind down. The accommodations were excellent as well as the breakfast and hotel services.
This hotel is a beautifully restored village that has been converted into a charming B&B. The views are incredible and there are many hiking trails through the mountains to nearby villages.
One of the few hotels in Domodossola that has onsite parking which was a positive for us. Also genuinely dog friendly. Clean, airconditioned room and quiet at night.
Nice location, incredibly rooftop terrace, very helpful host - everything was perfect. If I were ever to come back to Domodossola, I would pick that Apartment again!
Spacious apartment, well equipped, very clean, easy parking, easy walk to center of town. Host and her family very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast very good.
Very good location close to the station and the centre of domodossola !
Very nice and welcoming owner. Flat well put for the space, the sofa bed is comfy !
