At check-in we were given clear information and the staff walked us around the hotel to show us how to open the front door, where the restaurant and bar were and how to use the room facilities. How refreshing!
The towels were extremely soft/fluffy.
The waitress who served us dinner was extremely helpful and friendly and always with a smile. Made us feel very welcome.

Although it is dated by todays standarts the hotel really makes you feel how everything was in a past time. The views from this hotel are amazing and the staff are exceptional. Food at the restaurant was very tasty and generous, breakfast options are plenty
To get to the parking is a bit of a steep drive but for any average driver should be no problem

Great location and great facilities which leaves noting to complain on.
On top of this the owner Nicola is a fantastic host. He is truly keen on his guest to have a pleasent stay at Villa Nila. He was available 24 hours a day and supported us in all matters; from ordering pizza to renting a motorboat. He even bought and left a breakfast for the first morning since we arrived late and all shops were closed. Ciao!

I liked everything about these apartments. Thank you for such service and convenience. I was with a small child, there was a baby bottle, a plate, a bib for her, I really liked that you took care of such things.

Torno is a small town on the shore of lake Como close to the city of Como itself. It can be reached easily from Como by ferry or bus, although the ferry seems to be more reliable. Torno is small and picturesque which makes it a perfect place for a quiet base from where to visit the rest of the lake. There are few options where one can have a drink or dinner, but they are all great. Right next to the small harbour of Torno, which is also where the ferry stop and the church are, there are 3 restaurants of varying price levels and elegance.
Know that the taking ferries around Como is, while pleasant, quite time consuming. Also, since Torno is a small stop, not all ferries stop there. If you want to spend a more time around Bellagio or Varenna, you either have to leave by 16:15 to take a (slow) direct boat back to Torno or take the fast ship to Como at 18:30 and then one of the last small ships from Como to Torno (This option is faster than the direct ship). In any case, you will be having dinner in Torno as restaurants are closed between 15:00 and 18:00. Thankfully, for a short stay, Torno has something good to offer for every budget!

Torno is lovely for a short stay, but dining options are limited in the evening, and it's very hilly - not for the unfit or unsteady! It is a small village, very pretty little harbour area where the ferry stops, and there are two bars and several restaurants around there. There is also the Ristorante Glavitj further up the village which looks like it was last decorated in the 80's, but the view and the food MORE than make up for it! Best meal we had in Torno.
The cafe next to the pharmacy did lovely pastries and coffee in the morning - we went every day. They also sell the bus tickets which you must have before you get on the bus!
If you are visiting Lake Como in 2022 be aware that the Lake Como ferry that brings you from town to town insist on you wearing an FFP mask to board the ferry. Then everyone takes them off - it's bizarre.
Personally I would have preferred to be in a bigger town with more dining options and a bit more going on, but if you are looking for a quiet, scenic few days and nights with easy access to other spots on the lake by bus and ferry, Torno is lovely.

We were there in November 2019 and even though it was rainy we found the off season peaceful and quiet, easy to get around. The locals more relaxed and friendly with us as it isn't the time of year when they're over-run by tourists. The local "slow" ferry stops in Torno and we soon learned that from Torno you need to get to Como in order to catch the "fast" ferry to Bellagio or Verenna. From Hotel GLAVJC important to note that there is a well lit pedestrian walking path down the hill to the ferry. We made the mistake of walking the heavily traveled, narrow main road a couple of times and it was sketchy in the dark. It is a steep, hilly location, bring your comfortable shoes for the hike. The hotel is clean but dated, with a charming 1960's comfort (we were channeling our Grandparents). Spacious rooms with comfortable beds and a spectacular view of the lake. Friendly, helpful staff. There were always locals in the dining room in the evenings as the food is fantastic. Breakfast is more basic but the assortment of cakes and bakery items were impressive. Ask for your coffee fresh as they do have an espresso machine in the bar. The instant push button machine was awful.
We definitely recommend getting off the ferry and walking around Como, Cernobbio and Leno. Visit Villa del Balbianello in Leno, you won't regret it. This is an excellent value for the price.

Small town on Lake Como low on spectrum of tourist options.
Small town on Lake Como low on spectrum of tourist options. Lots of cobblestone walkways, on the mountain route of Como/Brunate, the Via Regia. A splendid lake side restaurant at Vapore, also a hotel option.

This is a great B&B in a fantastic location close to the ferry wharf and a number of local restaurants. Our room was above the pub/restaurant with a balcony the view was fantastic . Although the rooms were basic they were large and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food and drinks at the restaurant, reasonably priced.

A lovely lakeside village
A lovely lakeside village
Not really suitable for those who find steps difficult
But the hotel can be reached by boat from Comp and is the best way if you do not like flights of steps
Parking car is difficult
Nice place for B&B in Torno. Very close to ferry station ( 1 minutes) and you can find everything what you need for rest and sleep after long trip around a lake Como. Around 5 min walking a bus stop to Bellagio and Como. Also, you can spend a nice time at the bar downstairs where you can find to eat and drink something. Should say that despite the fact that we were on the second floor, and the bar was on the first floor, it was very quiet and there was no loud music or noisy visitors.
We loved this hotel. The location is amazing, the staff were really friendly, the room was exceptionally clean and up-to-date. The beds were really comfy. We had a family room, and the kids beds were off in a separated area, which was fab. We had a balcony which was great to sit on and watch the ferry come in and out. The breakfasts were well stocked (including chocolate brownie, which my son thought was fab!).
We liked the following:
The view.. it’s just amazing!
The location; very easy to reach (by the public boat transporting € 3.8 from Como)
The hospitality.. it seems like a family run place with cozy vibes and very welcoming people.
The cleanliness: the place is spotless.
The food; they offer very delicious breakfast and we also decided to have dinner there is was delicious and not expensive.
Not every pet-friendly accommodation welcomes cats but this one does! The host even prepared snack, food bowls and placemats for our cats!! (and also delicious cookies for human :-) ) Both we and our cats were very satisfied in staying in this accommodation.
It was also nice to experience living in a local town of Torno. Highly recommended!
A view beyond amazing; waking up to the great scenery of Lake Como is priceless. The hotel was close to the Como town and had parking spots with a nice garden. The breakfast was by far, one of the most rich ones. The two rooms that we stayed in both had balconies facing the lake and it was a delight to spend time on the balcony.
The location is stunning with views of the beautiful villas and mountains on the other side of the lake. To sit on the terrace directly at the water for dinner and breakfast is amazing. The hotel itself is simple but comfortable. I really like the classic design.
It was clean, comfortable and the view was amazing. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the boats on the lake. We took the boat to Como one day and Bellagio another day. Easy to do. Grazie was very accommodating with information.
Cozy room with very good location in Torno. The room has a small kitchen and has high standard. 10 minutes walk to restaurants and lakeside, and from the property you can hike up the mountain to get a beautiful view of the lake.
Very nice and modern hotel, spectacular view of the lake from balcony. Very convenient location if you choose to travel with public transport as bus stops are located right in front of the hotel.
It is really comfortable hotel room. You can find everything you need. The owners very kind and thoughtful. It’s also close to the shore but it is on hill. You can choose without even thinking

Excellent location with great view of Lago Como, great waking up experience. Overall a great property with plenty of space and all the facilities required. The host 5 stars.
This hotel is a throwback to former times. Rooms are small yet they are very clean. The view of the lake from our balcony was amazing. Hotel restaurant was outstanding!
The location was stunning! Torno turned out to be an amazing find! A hidden gem!! The property was absolutely beautiful, especially the outdoor spaces near the water.
