Oudewater is a delightful town and was a surprise to us.
Oudewater is a delightful town and was a surprise to us. It is full of interest and history especially for a small place. Of note are the Hakenwaag, where you can find out if you a a witch! the Rope museum is also worth visiting as you can learn about the historical source of wealth in the town. It has some splendid buildings in a compact area. The town has a good range of cafes and restaurants all seemingly popular. It also has a pleasant variety of shops. We were travelling with a dog by bicycle and the staff did everything to make sure that our dogs needs were met and that we had a very comfortable stay. We were especially pleased that the hotel staff.made sure that our bicycles were secure inside the hotel overnight. That said, the location is lovely and quiet and the bikes would have been safe outside anyway.
