Small town limited for much beyond fast food.
Small town limited for much beyond fast food. Expensive accommodations at primary hotel, but lack of basics…refrigerator, microwave and advertised Internet was nonexistent even on a slow day that we were there. Clean and comfortable, but seriously lacking in typical services. Staff was not especially friendly either. We will mot return not can we recommend hotel at the inflated price compared to any other hotels in the area. Restaurant was very good…the most redeeming factor there!

Kayenta is the go-to town if you're planning a day or 2 in Monument Valley. It has all of the basic amenities you need: gas station, accommodation, restaurants, fast food, food shop, but that's it. Great if you're looking for a simple stay as a pitstop for your Monument Valley days.

Convenient location for Monument Valley, local population making the most of it too, costs verse value quite low.
There is nothing much to recommend Kayenta, if we were to plan a trip again we would avoid staying here

We stayed in Kayenta because of closest location available...
We stayed in Kayenta because of closest location available to Monument Valley. The town offers NO other advantages. If I were booking here again I would likely stay at another lodging;. There is a Hampton Inn that looked attractive.
There was only one restaurant that we saw; very busy. I would rate it mediocre. Otherwise the options were fast food.

The Monument Valley was beautiful!
The Monument Valley was beautiful! I would like to come back, but I would take the guided tour. The 17 mile drive would be hard any any car. The horse back tour would be great too as both tours are able to go places that you are not allowed to go.

It is sensory overload from Williams, AZ to Durango, CO, with Kayenta in the middle and a great place for a night long respite. We did not allow enough time to really enjoy this beautiful setting. Grand Canyon, South Rim, stunning rock formations on the drive to Kayenta, and the monuments just north of town, featuring El Capitain are other worldly. We arrive too late to enjoy the local cuisine. Had a great sleep at the Wetherill.
Within an hour of our arrival the lights started to flicker and then a total power outage impacting half of the facility. The darkness was frustrating as we were having dinner, and the other half were brightly lit. The receptionist explained that the manager was out to wait for local utility to come and fix the exposed wire problem. The lights came back after around 40 minutes. Liked the diligence of staff and the setting in the room with table and chairs for two families to eat together. The breakfast is decent and I liked the porridge.
The breakfast was excellent! The dinner at the restaurant was exceptional! Our waitress Echo was fabulous. She was very busy and still managed to be very attentive.
Upon our arrival we were greeted by Earl at the front desk. What a charming man! He was so helpful and accommodating!
We will definitely stop here again even if we don't stay just to say "hi" to him. He definitely went above and beyond. This hotel is very lucky to have him!!
The Hotel is close to the Monument Valley (25-30 Minute Drive) which is very nice.
The personell is very friendly and kind which makes your stay comforting.
The Decoration inside the Hotel looks very good, the rooms are quiet big and the restaurant offers really good and tasty food.
Great, native American owned motel in the center of Kayenta. A 20 min drive from Momument Valley and close to the Amigo restaurant, the best food in town. The indoor pool is great and the breakfast area has beautiful patio sitting as a nice option for a fresh summer morning.
very clean and well kept. Pet friendly with no extra pet fee! very reasonably priced for the newness, and cleanliness of the property. Loved the Navajo “Hogan” and “Shade House” museum just outside of the hotel. Front desk employee Darryn Rae was exceptionally nice!
The location worked well near Monument Valley coming from Flagstaff and going to Page. I got a second-floor room in the farthest back corner, and it was quiet and had a great view. It was hot and the pool looked very nice but we had no time to use it.
The hotel is not far from the Monument valley, so if that is your destination, location is good.
Also the breakfast was a great deal. It was not a 5* breakfast, yet we enjoy it.
The place was also nice and tidy.
All in all a good experience.
Location in proximity to Monument Valley was good. Kayenta is about as close a you'll get without paying the exorbitant prices to stay in Monument Valley itself. The bathroom was a good size, as was the bed. And the staff were friendly.
Built in the 1950s, but looks as if it was built last year. A beautiful, immaculately maintained hotel. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast wasn't exceptional, but it was better than in many places we've stayed. Recommend highly.
Good facilities, close to Monument Valley attractions. Fridge in room and ice and microwave accessible. Take out and restaurants nearby. Nice breakfast options.
It’s a very nice hotel in a small town. The Navajo crafts for sale in reception were beautiful and we were thrilled to be able to stay on the Navajo nation land.
