The facilities were adequate for our needs. It was a little more expensive than what the facilities were like. The bathroom fan was very loud. We booked a shuttle to take and pick us up from our cruise. When I called the hotel to have them pick us up at 8 am they said that the shuttle did not start until 9 am. When I told them that we needed a ride before then, the woman who answered the phone argued with me, saying that we should have known because the information was on the paper given to us before we left. This conversation was not helpful. I had to be at the airport and needed to leave the city as soon as possible. We had to pay an Uber driver an extra 30 dollars to bring us back to the hotel. However, the hotel did say that they would refund 15 dollars from the shuttle fare. I will be contacting them for a refund.

the Extended Stay was filthy and poorly staffed.
the Extended Stay was filthy and poorly staffed. There was marijuana smoke in the hallways and the room telephone did not work. The kitchen was not sanitized, and we felt unsafe-will never stay there again and booking.com does little in representing you as a customer.

We were getting on a cruise and wanted to unwind ahead of it and get over jet lag (we were travelling from Australia). We stayed on the other end from downtown and the terminal. We had great access to the beach and the restaurants around here were great. Lots of little, what appeared to be mostly family owned. The neighbourhood was just that - a neighbourhood. Felt safe and lots of friendly people around. We did spend some time up near the cruise terminal with family who booked in a large well known hotel. It was way more sterile without the great restaurants and shops and certainly didn’t feel like a neighbourhood.

I like Long Beach a lot, but a visitor has to do some research because the amount of sights, restaurants, and events are just too many to list. Every time I go to Long Beach I make a new list of restaurants to experience.

If you stayed in Belmont Shore in the last couple years...
If you stayed in Belmont Shore in the last couple years there was decline in the area. Belmont is back, new restaurants and shops have opened. Much less homeless, more police and security. I felt totally comfortable on the latest trip.
I booked an overnight stay and asked for a late check-in because my plane got into LAX at midnight, and I wouldn’t get to Long Beach for an hour after that. Come to find out the hotel clerk booked me on the day before. By the time I arrived I was charged as a no show and had to PAY FOR THE SAME ROOM TWICE as I had nowhere to go. Residents Inn would not refund my money or simply push the reservation they blamed booking.com and booking.com blamed Residents Inn. in short a mistake on the part of Residence Inn cost me over $200.
Cool base from which to explore Long Beach on foot, and close to light rail for visiting L.A. Room was cozy, but comfortable, and the rates are excellent. They’ve updated in a low-key way that has kept the charm. We enjoyed Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles, East Village Cafe, and Fingerprints Records - all a short walk away. And just a little further to the beach, which is a great scene for people watching. Loved our first visit to Long Beach, and the Royal was an excellent part of the experience.
We enjoyed our stay very much! We were given a higher level room with an awesome view of Downtown Long Beach facing east. The location was perfect in relation to an event we were attending just a 10-minute walk away. Plenty of dining options are super close and I do recommend the hotel restaurant (great food and service). Our room was really clean; we could tell it was recently renovated. A/C and shower were of great quality, and the toilet was modern and eco-friendly. Beds were comfy.
Room was really clean and A/c worked good. Beds were super comfortable. The hotel itself had a very nice, staff was nice. Wasn't too far from downtown long beach and a bunch of stores nearby (CVS and an Albertsons). Lots of food options all in walking distance as well. Pool was nice and had a giant chess to play as well.
I do like the location, near the bus stop, and plenty of place to eat near. The building looks very nice and clean on the outside. Has an ATM machine outside the building. I like the big screen TV in the room, have an iron, phone and the coffee maker. There was a blow dryer but didn't work.
- Location of the hotel is just next to the Pike Outlets, and other amenities are within walking distance or short car rides.
- Staff are friendly & efficient is providing service.
- Rooms are well maintained and cosy.
- Area is not too busy and not too crowded
Awesome location right in the centre of Long Beach. Modern, clean. Fridge in the room was handy. Instant coffee and tea bags provided. We checked in late and received excellent instructions from the staff about what to do. The staff were super helpful.
The Beacon is great nice management and good ppl...
Out of all of the Hotels and Motels in that area in Long Beach on PCH between Long Beach Blvd and Golden Ave The Beacon Inn is the most affordable and reliable....
We wanted to stay in Long Beach at an "affordable" price.
Parking was included in the price of the room.
Nicely decorated and modern rooms. Comfortable bed.
Reception staff were cordial
The rooms are nice and spacious, with comfortable beds. The pool was lovely to swim in. The breakfast burritos were excellent. The customer service was good. We really liked the hotel.
The staff was friendly and the price was ok for the area, there are hotels down the street that are cheaper but the price was ok. It was quite and close to the beach and restuarants.
The location and the views of Long Beach were nice. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Miguel was very generous and offered us an upgrade to our hotel room.
