The staff at the hotel were very kind and helpful. They went out of their way to provide whatever we needed and gave us tips on where to visit in the city.
The room was spacious with high ceilings and the bathroom was also huge. The hotel is quite a short walk from the centre and has many interesting shops and cafes along the way. It's also quite close to tram station which takes you to the central railway/bus station.
This hotel blends an industrial history with elegant décor and modern facilities. Ghent River occupies several former factory buildings, only 600 metres from the Botermarkt.

Reception staff were not friendly, also even though we were in a quiet area in the hotel, we were disturbed by other guests partying in the early hours.

Located in the Flemish region of Belgium, the beautiful medieval city of Ghent is not only a city of history, but also a romantic place
to visit. The city is full of hidden historical, cultural and culinary gems that you can easily discover.
The Gravensteen or 'Castle of the Count' is a deceptively enchanting sight dating back to the Middle Ages. Constructed by Philip of Alsace, the count of Flanders, it's partially surrounded by a moat and beautifully restored, and hosts an interesting museum about the history of prison life.
Part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, the Belfry of Ghent is a medieval tower overlooking the Old Town centre. Saint Bavo Cathedral and Saint Nicholas' Church are the city's other two towers, with St. Nicholas' Church being one of the oldest landmarks in Ghent (known as Gent in Flemish).
Enjoy a relaxing walk in the picturesque medieval streets and stop at one of the charming traditional restaurants for Belgium beer and a classic Flemish meat stew with French fries. Local delicacies include the popular Belgium chocolate and the purple jelly-filled candies called the 'noses'.
Antwerp International Airport is 52 km away, while Brussels Airport is 55 km. Just book your hotel, guest house, apartment, or B&B through Booking.com and discover everything this stunning city has to offer.

The Industrial Museum (MIAT) has impressive and some unique objects, as befits the first Manchester of the continent. Vooruit for workers' social solidarity and a bar. Also thought-provoking is the Dr Josef Guislain museum in a still-used asylum (take tram #2).
Note that some tram routes, e.g, #4 to Nord Dokk, no longer operate.

A historic university city.
A historic university city. Preserves its strong Flemish identity.
Has a vibrant city centre and has a 'gothic feel' to it - but, not as strong as Bruges or to Brussels.
Once the main train station has completed its rebuild, it will enhance the city as a more inviting place.
We had dinner in the student sector and found it expensive. It's easy to get around Ghent by public transport. Trams need to be upgraded with easier payment systems and electronic information boards. Compared to Netherlands, Belgium's Tourist Information-points or Centres are not that easily accessible.
I would avoid staying near the main train station during its current building works due to noise and dust. The latter if you're allergic to dust.

Augmented Reality at St Bavo's Caythedral was exceptional.
Augmented Reality at St Bavo's Caythedral was exceptional. Almost everything in the city is walkable from the centre. Cars, trams, bikes and pedestrians share streets which means being careful when you walk. Altogether this was a visit to remember which will bring a smile to my face. Heartily recommended. With over 5000 students at the university the positive atmosphere was almost tangible. And the quality of life looked very good with excellent restaurants at reasonable prices and chic shops with good design on offer.

A beautiful, lively city with many easily accessible sights, concentrated in the centre. Easy communications by train or bus to/from other towns and good public transport within the city. Plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés, and a large pedestrian area. One can easily spend a few hours in one of the many museums on a rainy day.

Ghent seems to be something of a poor relation to the more...
Ghent seems to be something of a poor relation to the more famous Bruges. However, I found Ghent to be a thoroughly enjoyable place to visit and certainly lest touristy than Bruges. It's a very walkable city (to be fair, so is Bruges, but Ghent is more compact) which I really enjoy and value.
The local tourist authorities in Ghent have done a superb job with their excellent Visitors' Guide Book (free and printed in colour in the main European languages as well as English) which has a map showing the location of all the main points of interest, together with a succinct explanation of each. I found noting comparable in either Brussels or Bruges.
On my last morning before leaving for Bruges, I visited the very modern city library which was (for me) an enjoyable surprise, particularly after all the much more traditional historical sites. Try not to miss it and try to find time to step inside for a while!

It can get a bit full of walking tours and people in general - don't go at peak tourist times! Away from the centre there are lovely little bars and places to look at. It's crammed with beautiful art nouveau buildings. It prides itself on its artistic and musical connections - lots of students, and you could hear music practice going on in many places. There are local breweries with many delicious beers.
From first contact with Herbert, we knew we are about to have a wonderful time in his property. And we weren’t wrong! Lovely and polite owners who did awesome job with decorating the apartment. There is really nothing that you will miss. Kitchen and bathroom fully equipped, towels and bedding at disposal, everything very clean and cosy. Rooftop terrace is a hidden gem! Connection to city center is easy, either with bus, or Uber.
We can definitely recommend this place, and we are sure we will come stay here again next time we visit Belgium.
Host was great, nothing was too much trouble. Location is good - think Manchester in Belgium - old docklands, but with the industrial infrastructure left in place. It's outside the tourist centre (although a level, easy walk of 25 mins) and all the better for that. Supermarket nearby - and the best beer shop in town (although closed on Sundays & Mondays). Parking is 8Euros a day in the underground carpark for apartment residents beneath the block - very easy to leave the car safely there for your stay.
The building was renovated recently and was well-appointed but also kept a lot of old-world charm. The location was ideal for exploring the old town of Ghent. The room was large and the artwork throughout the hotel was unique and interesting. A salon with comfortable furnishings and an outdoor terrace provided nice communal spaces to relax. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and featured tasty homemade cakes and jams.
This hotel is just around the corner from the Gent-Sint-Pieters Train Station and tram to city centre. The owner is fantastic - friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome! He gave us directions to walk to city centre (around 30 minute walk or a quick tram ride) and highlights of Ghent to see. We loved the charm and architecture of the building. The value was good.
The central location was ideal! The response from staff was great. We arrived by car and needed directions for parking and the staff gave specific details that eased our stress when driving in to Ghent. The street in front of the hotel is currently under construction and we had to park a few blocks away. Because of the staff communication, we arrived easily.
The hotel building and its decoration are outstanding and could easily come out of a decoration magazine, lot of well-thought details with all the necessary toiletries including cotton bud & pads.
The neighborhood is ideal close to the historic centre of Ghent but within a more vibing neighborhood gathering favorite of locals restaurants & bars.
This hotel is located in the Korenlei/Graslei area of Ghent which is very accessible by tram from the Korenmarkt stop. There are many shops, restaurants, and attractions nearby. The hotel is also in a quiet environment. I also really appreciated that when the room was made, chocolates would be provided every time which was nice.
Compared to other hotels in Ghent, the price of this hotel fee is pretty reasonable. Our room was very quiet and there are one big supermarket very close to the hotel, so it is very easy to go shopping from the hotel. Ghelamco Arena is also close from the hotel, so it is quite convenient place to enjoy soccer matches in Ghent.
This hotel was the highlight of our trip to Belgium, clean comfortable and spacious room with a great shower. The deck is perfect for sitting in the sunshine enjoying a bottle of wine
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and impeccable service from Sven he lent us a kettle. We wouldn't hesitate to book again if in Ghent!
Our time there was perfect, it's really good located, during our time there, we're a little bit difficult go to the flixbus station, we walk and it took around 30 mins( because the city center was closed for the festival), the hotel is located one block to the tram 1 station, and it is in the heart of Ghent
We had an amazing stay at B&B Graaf 😁!! The owners, Gwynn & Kenzo, are super friendly and hospitable and make you feel at home immediately! The belgium design of the place is exquisit and the bed is very comfortable. Definitely one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in. Looking forward to come back soon :)
I enjoyed staying in this hotel. Room large enough, it was a very clean room. Tea pot and coffee were in the room, and scooters were available from the reception, so I took one for a two hours morning ride.
Definitely going to visit Belgium/Gent in 2021 and will stay in Astoria, if will be possible.
Rooms are clean and the location is perfect for a day trip to Brugge. It is very near to the Ghent sint pieters station and tram stop is just right at the door step of the hotel which makes it easy to get into the center of Ghent. The staff are very helpful and nice.
The Comic Art Hotel is a newly refurbished hotel within easy walking distance to Gravensteen Castle and many of the most popular eating and tourist attractions in Ghent. Staff was exceptionally good at recommending places and in making us feel at home.
Te building is a 19th century convent that has been converted to a hotel.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and comfort of the conversions. Beautiful architecture with quirky layouts - but modern finishes and amenities
Exceptionally beautiful hotel right on the central square in Ghent. Perfect location. also beautiful room. Terrific breakfast and super-cool cocktail bar. Wonderful.
