Fano is a really lovely place.
Fano is a really lovely place. It offers art in the form of a museum and Foundation which runs exhibitions. The town itself was originally founded by the Romans and this is evidenced by the Arch of Augustus and other points of architectural and archaeological interest. It is on the sea and there are lovely walks to be had on the seafront and in the old town. A nice medieval town with surprisingly a lot of history a typical walled center and cobblestone streets. Some good restaurant around and a very laid-back population. Small but charming. - Walking distance to everything you need. - 30min-1h trip by train to some other places you might want to see, like Rimini, San Marino, Ancona. - Choices of both relatively cheap and more expensive restaurants. - A few nice museums and churches to visit.

Nice and calm town, but gets busy over weekend. Charming narrow streets between buildings. Lovely canal getting inside the town. Beautiful main square and suroundings worth seeing too. Fano is also a good base to trip around the area. It is located relatively close to San Marino (65 km), Rimini (55 km), Ancona (60 km), Urbino (45 km) and some other places. Fantastic spot.

A perfect combination of a busy italian town (not major city) and a beach community. Fano is wonderful for food, wine, shopping, sandy and pebble beaches, towns and mountains to explore close by, a place to relax and soak in culture of a beautiful corner of the world.

Very quiet and comfortable room, exquisite dinner and remarkable service with good wine suggestions and typical products. The breakfast was good, we could choose what we wanted to eat upfront and it was served at the table. Plenty of parking spots outside. Stunning views as the structure is uphill. We traveled with our dog and she was welcomed everywhere, restaurant and breakfast included. The hotel is close to the A14 highway and we chose it as a stopover in our journey.

The house is well located in the historic part of Fano, with many beautiful houses and nice restaurants within walking distance. On Wednesdays and Saturdays we visited the market and bought nice ingredients for our meals. Many thanks to the nice hosts. When our car broke down, they were quick to help us with workshop tips. Domenico has provided a very warm welcome and since I arrived on a Sunday afternoon with closed grocery shops, I really appreciated that there were coffee and snacks available for breakfast and a nice bottle of chilled white wine! The apartment was cozy but had everything you need for a very comfortable stay. I will definitely take it in consideration for a future vacation.

( and why wouldn't we? ) it is 50m from the beach and comes with a garden, a bbq, a fully equipped kitchen and several bicycles: to reach the center of Fano via a 15min ride on a bikelane. We also used the bicycles to go north and south via the bike lane and reach less crowded beaches. Having the house right on the "ciclovia adriatica" was a huge plus The host is also sympathetic and reachable.RobItaly

We were there in july and the beaches were not crouded. Perfect! Restaurants and bars are a few minutes walking away, the city is realy nice. I have travelled far and wide but have never been treated like Burno and Antonella I had breakfast each morning in the lovely garden with the smell of jasmine all around me. My room was cleaned everyday the place was spotless. It is only a short walk to Fano Centre and the bus stop which will take you directly in Fano.
