I loved the historic architecture around Via Etnea where I was staying at Etna Suites Group. The food options were everywhere, shopping at all financial levels, and the city was made for pedestrians first and cars second. Don't get a car! You can walk everywhere you want to go and the walk will be exciting and fun. I never felt scared or worried about my safety day or night. I got a tour of Etna that picked me up from my hotel and drove me all the way up and dropped me back off where I started. Awesome awesome city.

It is not just a tourist destination but still a real place.
It is not just a tourist destination but still a real place. Beautiful architecture with a bit of grit. Nice people. Plenty to explore. Good day trip capabilities and public transportation. Affordable food choices. Liked Insigne Cafe and Trattoria da Nuccio. Excellent price value ratio. Not a place for beach time. Great little botanical garden and museum of contemporary art.

Catania surprised me.
Catania surprised me. While people were indifferent, they weren’t rude, which was nice.
Touristy sites were easy to get to by walking. It seems a really walkable city, from the train station to the sites.
Cars were patient and obeyed pedestrian crossings etc and stopped to let people cross the road when there wasn’t any crossing!
The street art is a bonus.
I loved the well advertised touristy sites and there were no long queues, and they were cheaper to get into than a lot of Italy’s sites.

I like mostly the food and the prices of some restaurants, but sometimes the service charge is too much. I found it very easy to use the public transport in catantia and to go to other places like Taormina, Castelmola, centro sicilia and Sicilia outlet etc, etc.

Travellers tend to pass Catania town by.
Travellers tend to pass Catania town by. Many sights are within easy walking distance. It has ancient amphitheatres which we loved and fabulous churches along Via Crociferi. For a pleasant interlude a Hop on Hop off bus can take you up the coast to see the environs and the Cyclops rocks.
The location was good, a few blocks from Piazza Duomo where restaurants and cafes are so at night had some movement but the hotel was far enough that you didn't hear any noice.
The room was big in size, the bed super comfy, bathroom well ventilated. Small shower but with good water pressure.
Serena, the host/manager was very kind, helpful and spoke very good English...which I found is not common in Sicily.
The room also had a water kettle and some coffee/tea/sugar for you to use. The bathroom had some toiletries too.
Asmundo di Gisira is a boutique hotel that offers its guests an inspirational and unique experience. Surrounded by artistic works that complement the baroque and cultural aesthetics of Sicily, a stay in this hotel is highly recommended. A definite highlight of our stay was the excellent breakfast including a selection of Sicilian pastries, fresh juices, eggs made to order, in addition to seasonal fruits, and savory delights such as mini pizzas and cheeses. We absolutely adored this hotel in the heart of Catania.

The neighborhood right around Catania airport is quite rough and this room was no exception ... it's very conveniently located, and it was nice to be so close to the airport before our early-morning flight back to Belgium. But there was only street parking and that made us nervous for our rental car. It's not close to any restaurants or places to eat, so you have to order in. IT's a very cheap room, but the bed was not comfortable, the bathroom wasn't clean and it just felt very dingy.
A really excellent place to stay - it was our second stay, we started our holiday there, and ended it there as well. It is conveniently located near the airport, and easy to reach via highway. Also a good base to explore the eastern part of Sicily, Catania, Taormina, Siracusa, Mt Etna, or just to spend a day lingering at the pool. Personnel is super friendly and enthusiastic, taking the best care of you. We even could have an early breakfast on the day of departure.
We loved everything about our stay. It was the perfect way to end our holiday in Sicily. The villa was clean and cozy and the staff was so welcoming. It was an easy walk to the sandy beach through the orange trees. And the evening meal was excellent. We initially chose this place because it was an easy 20 minute drive to the airport, but it ended up being so much more. I would love to bring my family back and stay longer some day.
Excellent location, design and comfort and outstanding management. the internet is one of the best I had in all Italy! handy if you need to work.
It is an old hotel re-designed and run by Marco who goes the extra mile always to make you feel at home and he is very passionate about his hotel and hospitality . Many times in Catania properties before, never so confortable and never felt so welcomed. Grazie mille Marco!
The apartment Dimore Albrune is very cozy and comfortable, furnished with great taste, and has everything you need for your stay in Catania. The host Alberto is very polite and helpful person. The apartment is 15 minutes walk to Centro Storico of Catania and 2 minutes to the bus station where you you can find busses to almost everywhere in Sicily. It is very convenient point to start your trip around amazing Sicily.
Spotlessly clean, gorgeous new bathroom, generous extras provided (including toothbrush and toothpaste). We stayed in the family room, which is very comfortable and has a little balcony with table and chairs. Great location two minutes from Piazza del Duomo. Alessia was incredibly helpful even before we got to Sicily, as there was a lot of uncertainty around Catania airport following the fire. Thank you!
Luxurious, spacious, maximum clean apartment, spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds, pleasant and useful interior terrace, building with quiet residents in the heart of Catania. AliBus has arrival and departure stations from/to the airport nearby. Exceptional hosts, an example of how such a business should work, very kind and civilized. Thank you very much! See you next time we arrive in Sicily!
I liked almost everything, staff was super friendly, room was big and nice with blackout options. The shower was amazing. One pillow on the bed was memory foam. That was a very pleasant surprise.
Location in Via Etnea across Villa Bellini is really nice, and it makes for a nice morning walk to the train station as I used Catania as base for exploring the east coast of Sicily.
We came back here on our final day to be close to the airport for our early morning flight. We spent a night one week before at this lovely place and its wonderful owner arriving from Palermo before moving on along the east coast of Sicily. Our opinion has not changed this time, so just check our last review. If we would come back to Catania one day we would stop by again.
Excellent luxury hotel in the heart of Catania, we were very comfortable here and very happy with the service. The breakfast was excellent, with variety to choose from and very fresh high quality food. We slept better here than any other accommodations we had in two weeks in Sicily. Excellent supplies in the room, very high quality.
This hotel is right next to the airport in Catania, it literally sits next to the rental car lot and it is just a short walk to the terminals. We stayed here because we had a very early AM flight. For convenience to the airport, this place is a winner.
Very close to the center of Catania, complete with minibar and breakfast. This was one of the best accommodations we had during our 2023 visit in Sicily. SUPERHOST, patient, friendly and providing great suggestions.
