Kathmandu is a very busy city. As it was our first time in Nepal, we decided to stay in Kathmandu instead of flying to other touristy places like Pokhara. And we didn't regret the decision. We enjoyed the trip and the overall experience was amazing. Hopefully we can go back there again and explore other cities. Nepal has a very rich history, it's amazing.

Stay away from Kathmandu especially Thamel if you can, it is noisy, polluted, dirty. As pedestrian you share the narrow alleys with hundreds of Nepalese scooter and motorbikes riders, who drive dangerously passed you, without a care about your safety. I recommend to wear masks if you don't want your lung to be filled with hazardous smog. There is an app called AirVisual which tells you how bad the air quality is in and around Kathmandu. I recommend to stay as little in Kathmandu as possible, take a taxi or bus to Bhaktapur and use it as your base instead! It has beautiful sights of historical temples walking distance away, is less overrun by scooters and hotels are very nice and are cheaper, food is delicious: try the local highly praised juju dhau (yoghurt type dessert), souvenirs are higher quality and cheaper.

There are a lot of historical places to see nearby and some nice nature excursions through day trips as well. A lot to explore in terms of culture and shopping. It can be a little dusty and polluted at times so better to wear a mask when walking around the city.

KTM is the second home for me.
KTM is the second home for me. When ever I find a time to escape from the Middle East heat I will go there. Lovely weather, Warm Peoples , Good beer , Hot & Spicy food.
Multiple choice to have including , shopping , tracking , Walking, Site seeing.
We were lucky to land just before Nepalis new year and had lots of fun.
it was tucked back in a quieter alley which is quite the commodity in Kathmandu. We were able to easily walk throughout the Thamel and there were so many restaurant options close by. the provided breakfast is worth getting as it was hearty with lots of options. it was clean and the staff was helpful. we had a group member get sick and the other two of us were able to easily get another room for the night. they also had a laundry service that was very reasonable. hotel Jampa was a great value and I’d definitely stay there again.
The best airport hotel I have stayed at in Kathmandu. Standards were equivalent to western standard hotels and much better than other airport hotels I have stayed at in Kathmandu. The room was exceptionally clean and well equipped. Check in was smooth, the staff were very helpful, and I had a good quality meal on arrival. Very convenient location just 750kms from the airport - just 500 nepal rupees in a taxi or walkable if you don't have too much luggage.
Will definitely use this hotel next time I visit Kathmandu.
MileStone Hotel located is in the heart of the Thamel,

I will recommend this property who visit Thamel Kathmandu Nepal
One of the best hotel I stay in Kathmandu. Things are well organized and beautiful around. Got a room upgrade and it was excellent. Food is delicious and the dining area is very cozy. Have a massage in the spa and that’s very professional and relaxing. Shout out to the staff including the reception, waiters, housekeepers and the security even the gardener, they made me feel home. Thank you for everything and I will come back.
The best thing about the property is people who work there, kind, professional and always there for you to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are clean and have everything you need for your stay. The location is perfect in Thamel, walking distance to Durbar square, restaurants and shops. They provide an airport pick up and that's a big bonus. Nice terrace on the top of the hotel has beautiful sunset views. I recommend it!
This is the third time I stayed in this hotel because their budget private rooms are the best deal I could find in Thamel district. I used to pay almost the same for a bed in shared dorms in hostels but after I found this place it’s a no brainer just get their budget private room with private bathroom and you will probably have much better sleep and privacy. Also the balcony style access to the rooms are kind of nice
Hotel is in the middle of Thamel, but because of nice garden it looks like you’re in a peaceful place. The rooms are really big, clean and they have everything you need. The best of this hotel is their stuff. The day starts with delicious breakfast. All day cleaning the surrounding and inside the hotel. They also gives you everything you need anytime. They are all so kind that make your stay even more pleasant.
absolutely loved the hotel. each and everything in the room was placed very thoughtfully. they have the best restaurant in thamel and an amazing supper club. if you dont party at night you might have a problem sleeping so avoid the hotel if youre planning to stay sober as the music from the club and the surrounding is quite loud. but we stayed awake till 4/5 am every time so it was really fun for us
The property is located in a quiet street on the edge of Thamel The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom has a good quality shower. Breakfast was decent, especially the banana pancake. The staff were helpful. The hotel introduced me to Raj who expertly guided us round Kathmandu for the day and he also arranged a scenic flight over the Himalayas. I can highly recommend his services .
I highly recommend this property. Mr. Itani and his team were amazing! I can honestly say Divine Kathmandu was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in all my travels. They were very accommodating and welcoming. The staff showed a genuine kindness and desire to ensure your stay with them was pleasant and hassle free.
I highly recommend this hotel.
A Delightful Stay in the Heart of Kathmandu's Thamel
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel in the vibrant neighborhood of Thamel during my visit to Kathmandu, Nepal. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was warmly welcomed by the attentive and friendly staff, setting the tone for a truly enjoyable stay.
What a wonderful place to stay in Thamel! The hosts are amazing people, who are always happy and ready to help with any quiry. In 5 stars hotels you do not feel such a care like here. The rooms are clean and there is everything you need for the stay. Indeed it is a Happy Home :) I will definitely stay here on my next trips.
I strongly advise this hotel. The location is perfect, next to Thamel, but in this hotel you don't listen hustle and bustle of the street. It's a quiet place. The staff is very friendly and rooms are good. The breakfast is very good with sweet and salt food served in a tiny quiet garden. Moreover is a cheap hotel :)
Had a wonderful stay at the KTM Valley. The service was excellent and more importantly its a pre opening hotel, so everything you find is new, the location was up to the best as tourists attractions such as durbar marg and thamel was so near at walkable distance. I would definitely come back again.
Beautiful place in Kathmandu. Walking distance to Thamel but peaceful and quiet. Lovely inner courtyard with good food and amazing staff. More than I expected. Price quality is amazing. My room was the best hotel room so far in Nepal, especially for the price.
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful at all times of the day. Jaya, the manager, is making sure his clients have the best time in his hotel. Reasonable prices. Perfectly located in Thamel neighbourhood close to trekking shops, restaurants, pharmacies,…
Excellent hotel with excellent location. The hotel located at the middle of Thamel, kathmandu. Clean & Comfortable room. The staffs were amazing, one of the best hotel you will find in kathmandu. it was amazing stay.
The hotel is quite, clean and the staff are very helpful and understand requests.
The location is great for exploring Thamel , Kathmandu Darbar squre and Garden of dream.
The best budget hotel in Thamel. Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Modern bathroom. Thank you for a good stay. Will visit again. Recommend to friends. A+
