With inner courtyard views, this accommodation offers a patio. The ryokan has family rooms. Great location away from the crowds but a very short distance away from pretty much all the hot spots. It’s generally pretty rare to find a place with this much space in a major city in Japan for what is honestly a steal of a price. The host went far and beyond what I expected and honestly did a better job helping our group plan activities and restaurants than many hotel concierges I have dealt with.

Amazing experience - Ryokan stay. Proper futon plus tatami sleeping in a large room, especially large when you put aside the tatamis. Makes you wonder why on earth we need the huge useless beds that occupy 60% of a room and make it useless during the day. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I like the feel of the property. It was exactly what I was looking for on that part with the tatami floors and the futon. It was a lovely surprise to use the yukata
The location was very convenient. The Ryokan itself well equipped ,very nice and traditional. The staff extremely nice, helpful and polite. The breakfast was incredible. I especially liked sleeping on the futons and wearing a yukata as part of the experience.
This was one of the greatest Japanese experiences I have ever had. The staff went above and beyond, making us feel like family. The food was incredible and authentic. I tried foods I had never had before and was so impressed. The ryokan experience is something EVERYONE should experience and to be so lucky to experience the Ohanabo ryokan, onsen, dinner and breakfast, yukata dress wear, and the generosity and kindness of the staff. Truly an unforgettable experience.
This hotel has got to be my favourite of my big Japan trip. The rooms are pretty and have traditional characteristic themes, emulating Ryokan atmosphere with tatami mats throughout. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful, and I absolutely loved the huge variety of Onsen facilities with free ice lollies that came after, which was a massive treat after a full day of sight seeing. Also their breakfast buffet is next level! This hotel was slightly on the pricier side but 100% worth it. I will definitely stay here again.
The place was amazing, it was our first time staying in a traditional Japanese Ryokan. The tatami mats, public baths, futons, and all the traditional decor was very beautiful. Staff were very accommodating. The two men running the place tried their hardest to communicate with us in English (they're learning! Very cute). Breakfast was so beautiful, was an amazing start to the day. The baths were INCREDIBLE. The best bath I've ever had. Perfect temperature, so clean, the tub was massive. Toiletries and all the amenities were lovely, too.
The traditional Japanese wooden house with the tatami floor bedrooms, very comfortable futons and the private garden view with the camelia blossoms. Amazing breakfast and tea & coffee facilities. The host was really welcoming and provided excellent restaurant recommendations. Good location and easy connection with great coffee and food near by, check out Yoshihara for amazing coffee. The public onsen was incredible. We will be back!
It's a ryokan in a high building where you get yukatas, bento breakfast (beef is best), futons on the floor and a wonderful indoor onsen. We lived there for 3 nights and the best time to vizit the onsen was at 4 pm or about midnight. We walked to Gyon and Kiyomizu-dera, it took about 30-40 min.
If you want to spend a few nights in a real ryokan (not the edulcorated-for-tourist replicas), this might be the real deal. Wooden and paper panels, tatami, futons, internal garden, traditional shower, in-room tea-set, yukatas, and many other details. My kids (14 and 11 y.o) said this was the best hotel in our 3-weeks-trip throughout Japan. The staff is very kind and eager to make your stay great.
