Located in the hills surrounding Funchal, this 18th-century mansion is set in extensive botanical gardens with 600 different plant species. All rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens. This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We look forward to staying again.

Orquidea opens out on to an extra-large roof-top terrace, overlooking Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean. Great room with super comfy beds! We also had a balcony. The hotel is located a couple of minutes away from the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. Be aware that the hotel is located on a one-way, narrow street with no parking possibilities. We used the "blue" parking spots near the hotel (on top of the hill). The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had! Very diverse, 3 types of milk, a lot of fruits, and more bread types, croissants, and other cookies, and a lot more! On top of that, the view from the breakfast room is breathtaking! Do not miss this hotel if you are in Funchal!!!

El Quintinha São João és un establiment de 5 estrelles envoltat d'uns jardins paisatgístics frondosos. Disposa d'un spa i de piscines climatitzades cobertes i exteriors. The hotel staff is amazing and made us felt welcome. It is a relatively small hotel, so you don't feel here like just another costumer, but you get to know all the members of the staff. We loved the restaurant - the food and the service were excellent. Also we were pleasently surprised that the hotel services' prices were very reasonable, sometimes even a bargain. The garden is very pleasant, even nicer than in the pictures.

Set in a historic building of central Funchal, Monte Carlo features a large elevated terrace and roof-top pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is located only 800 metres from the Funchal Marina. I love the service! The girls on desk is lovely. One is from madeira… the others is from Colombia! Amazing service! The last guy I don’t like the style is not friendly
